Oh I am soooo pissed off right now. It's a moment I kinda knew was coming, but I mad because I couldn't prevent it. I've spent the most of the last 2 months workig on this loan with this black couple who just give me attitude everytime I ask for the necessary documentation to do the loan that they want me to do.
It's not my fault they own multiple investment properties and have a plot of land in another state that all has to be factored into the loan. It's not my fault the housing market pretty much crashed and now banks can no longer offer no-documentation loans and just hand out money to anybody that comes into the bank wearing a smile. It's not my fault the banks all took bail out money and now have to account for their bottom line so they must cross all their "t's" and dot all their "i's" so they know who they are lending money to.
I give these people a final list of what is needed and the wife agrees to get everything I ask for... reluctantly. For the 2nd time she says "this is it, don't ask for no more" then takes a week to gather up most of what I ask for and basically tell me to just work with it. I need one document, a document that she could have gotten from the bank when she went there a week ago to check off the list, a document she receives in the mail, and yet she never gives it to me.
I call her back today to let her know that everything is ready to go but we can't move forward without the Mortgage Statement to one of the properties that we are paying off in the new loan and she decides she doesn't want to deal with it anymore (I've asked for the document about 3 time since day 1) and is gonna go with someone else. I try to tell her that no matter where she goes, she is gonna have to give the same documentation and that all I need it the statement she receives in the mail every month. It's probably sitting in her stack of mail.... and she refuses to look for it.
I've sorted through rental agreement, bank statements, inheritance papers, pay-stubs, taxes, mortgage statements, credit reports, appraisals, disclosures, loan application, their attitude and bank requirements all over the last 7 weeks for this loan, and she is gonna dump the whole thing because of a mortgage statement that is easy to obtain.
It's not uncommon to lose a loan from time to time, but the amount of work, stress and time attached to this one makes me want to go to their house, kick open the front door and dig through their mail to find it myself. I kept my cool over the phone since there is a slight chance that I will be able to save it with one more phone call, but this is not a good way to go into the weekend.
