Sponge mop or fabric mop?
« on: August 10, 2009, 03:36:37 PM »
Which type of mop do you prefer?

I myself use both actually. For everyday mopping I use a fabric mop because it has a larger cleaning area and it holds dirt better. For sticky spots or stains I use a sponge mop for its better scrubbing power.

Sponge Mop Square Pads, and her dog, Swiffer.

Super absorbant, for the active mop lifestlye.

Which option would I select for Swiffer?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Is sexism allowed on NWR?  I don't remember anything in the rules about it.  It could be allowed, unlike gay jokes.

Where is the option for steam mop?
Never heard of it.

and the option for
the woman mops, why don't you ask her?
*slap*

Which option would I select for Swiffer?
You'd get a real mop. Swiffer is no good, it doesn't hold much dirt and takes three clothes to clean the entirety of my floors. That's a lot of money wasted on clothes.

So Birdo's blowhole doesn't work as a mop of some sort?
Nope, that's a vacuum.

The Scooba is truly a magnificent invention.

I agree that Swiffer sucks as a broom substitute, but get the wet cloths for it and it's a great mop.

I personally prefer that for home mopping. But I'm most familiar with the mops at work. It's funny because I was laughing tonight at work about how I was 'Moping it up'. At work we use the stringy fabric mops but they have a scrubby pad attached to it as well for getting grimy spots. The floors can be a pain, but I think I made a new personal record in cleaning them. I'm usually meticulous that I can take over an hour to clean the whole floor of the store I was at tonight but I finished in 30 minutes flat. It has these little grooves that collect dirt (they are supposed to keep you from slipping, but they don't). :P

My Mom gave me a Swiffer when I left for school and I'm too cheap to buy a new mop when I have that. I refuse to use a Swiffer for sweeping, though. But the Swiffer cloths are great for dusting.

I'll figure out what to do once I run out of the wet cloths. I may change to a regular mop.

So hey, I bought a mop. I bought it at Walmart, it's a fabric mop that you can strech out and twist to ring out the water. My floor is still dirty in places.
