Chibi-Robo is back! And he has discovered greed!
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:38:44 PM »
While I'm not one to normally link to IGN articles, I figured this news is worth the exception.

Chibi-Robo seeks riches

I'm so glad Nintendo hasn't given up on Chibi-Robo. Hopefully, the re-release on Wii will cause more people to discover Chibi and pick this game up.

Instead of cleaning a park, Chibi is back in a house setting. Now, he is seeking wealth as well in order to pay for his expensive home shopping network addiction. He's even resorted to gambling! Yeah! I hope he turns to booze as well and the game ends by him travelling to the past and having a self-intervention.

In all seriousness, it sounds pretty good. It's nice to be back to helping a family and if IGN's suspicions are true, you are now helping the daughter Jenny who has grown up. Going by the look of the female character, it definitely could be possible. Hopefully, it keeps the same heart as the original. Maybe even a return of Drake Redcrest. Greet everyone by yelling! (Space Hunter Code Lesson 1)

I'm surprised IGN hasn't put up any videos: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/chibi-robo-happy-rich-big/11632

I'm happy that Chibi-Robo is going back to what the sequel should have been.

And please don't limit its release to one story only.

You can find Chibi-Robo Park Patrol used in EBGames/Gamespot.

Store exclusives SUCK though, for us Canadians. Sometimes store exclusives don't even come here.  :'(

EB Games also sells it brand new up here as well. I've known that since it came out. I'm just kicking myself really bad over not buying the game when they had a sale on it awhile ago. It was marked down to 4.99 and I think that was for a new game. Even used, that's an awesome deal but I missed out. Ever since I just can't bring myself to buy it knowing it was that price at one time. I'll always fear that it will be sold at that cost again someday and that I will have overpaid. Still, since it is Chibi-Robo, I'll probably get it yet. Svevan spoke highly of it. But for now, I will keep on with my silent vigilance of a price drop for the game.

Also kicking myself since I didn't see Mr.Jack had made a topic for this long ago in the staff blog section. I really should get out more on these boards. I just like the community section so much. And here I had to quote IGN for my topic. I was also wondering why this topic didn't make more of a splash. That's because most of the comments were made in that topic. So, my apologies Mr.Jack. You are on top of all things Chibi-Robo.

Finally, just on a side point of True Blue's, I don't find things too hard to find here in Canada. Usually, the local EBGames will have every game available. They sold Electroplankton brand new up here in stores. I bought my copy like 2 years after it had come out. Of course, it was one of the most expensive games I bought at $45.00 dollars. And now it will be made available at a cheaper price on DSware. (grumble). They've also had items like the DS Internet Browser and DS Korg-10 as well. I snapped up the DS-Korg 10 as soon as I saw that one. Good thing since I've only ever seen it once more since then. Even games like Super Princess Peach I can still get new here. Maybe I should since it sounds like it has gone out of print. Just kept hoping for a price drop. Oh well.

Okay, for SOME Canadians. It might be different in some different regions of Canada. I could't get Soul Bubbles here because it was only a Toys R' Us exclusive. Got it for X-Mas since a relative went to Vegas and looked for the game via a request from one of my parents.

So...yeah.

This game looks sooo good! I hope it comes to America sometime soon. You can get Chibi Robo PP at the Nintendo World Store in NYC too. Not that it helps everyone.

Chibi Robo has too much personality in his metal tin-can body that Reggie will be put off by it.

HI DISASTER.

i think the difference between this and Disaster..is that this is actually a good game. Disaster is just that..a Disaster. Nintendo did us a favor by not bringin' it over here.
