NBC fucked up and Leno is a snake. There is no way around that.

If he had a problem with what was happening, then he should have said something or atleast reasoned with Conan. He pretended he was ok with it and then took a back door approach at getting his seat back screwing Conan in the process. Snake.

I'm sure Jay had enough clout at NBC to say "NO" or atleast "give me till my 20th" and NBC & Jay had a good enough relationship with Conan to get Conan to agree to an extended deadline of 2012.

People have been warning Conan about Jay since this switch was announced 4+ years ago and everything that has been said has come true.

Jay Leno is on Oprah right now sounding like the snake he is.
Trying to push through the thought that it was all the affiliates and NBC's decision to put him back on The Tonight Show.

Then he said how he didn't feel bad or think about the fact that he was taking away Conan's dream. He kept trying to lead it back into the ratings (the part that Jay sabotaged) and how Conan's numbers weren't as high as his when he had L&O(One of the highest rated procedurals on TV) as his lead in for the last 17 years.

Jay's rep is ruined, but I think it won't affect him in the long term as far as The Tonight Show is concerned.

Looks like Conan will be on TBS starting this November with Family Guy & The Office as his lead in.

Didn't Conan bump George Lopez?  How is this any better than what Leno did?

TBS was very reliable throughout my childhood.  It seemed like every weekend took turns showing James Bond marathons or BLOODSPORT.

The comedy-focused TBS, by contrast, made it clear that it really, really wanted O'Brien -- and was willing to step up with a monster deal to land him. His new pact with the network will allow O'Brien to own his own show, a la David Letterman, while also giving him an eight-figure compensation package described as "bigger than any other deal he's ever had," one person familiar with the agreement said.

Looks like Conan made out like a fat cat this time around. No more getting screwed in the future since he owns his own show and is getting paid $X0,000,000 in the process.

Didn't Conan bump George Lopez?  How is this any better than what Leno did?

George Lopez called Conan and asked him to do the show. George said he couldn't be happier than to hopefully receive the ratings bump from following Conan. I'm pretty sure that was mentioned in the 1st link I provided.

And TBS has done a terrific job branding and promoting Lopez Tonight.   (O’Brien began talks in earnest with TBS just last week, after George   Lopez personally called him to ask that he consider joining the   network’s late-night line-up. “I can’t think of anything better than   doing my show with Conan as my lead-in,” Lopez said. “It’s the beginning   of a new era in late-night comedy.”)

At some point I'm sure Conan will move his show to somewhere else and George Lopez (assuming his show is still on) will be moved up and someone else will take over the midnight slot.

Just because someone says they're happy publicly doesn't mean they are.

In part, that's because TBS already has a late-night show, "Lopez Tonight," headlined by comic George Lopez. But Lopez called O'Brien last week to urge him to jump to TBS -- even though it meant Lopez's show would be bumped to midnight.

"Lopez Tonight" -- which skews young but has been a modest ratings performer, after a strong start -- has now been renewed for a second season. And virtually overnight, TBS has established a potentially powerful -- and paradigm-shifting -- late-night lineup.

Lopez went out of his way to signal he was on board with being bumped.

"I can’t think of anything better than doing my show with Conan as my lead-in,” he said. “It’s the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy.”

I'm sure his comment and his renewal were not unrelated, but as long as he gets to keep his show going, I'm sure he doesn't really mind. He is a new comer to the Late Nite game and his TV show has already ended, so it's either play ball or get out.

Conan Treats Lopez with Royal Respect

Originally posted Apr 12th 2010 10:25 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned how the deal went down with Conan O'Brien, George Lopez   and TBS, and Conan made it clear -- he didn't want anyone to endure the   same shabby treatment he got at NBC.

Sources tell TMZ the idea of bringing Conan to TBS was hatched by   Turner's entertainment chief Steve Koonin.  We're told Koonin went to   George Lopez and said he would only approach Conan if George gave his   blessing.  We're told George immediately figured out that having Conan   as an 11:00 PM lead-in would be nothing short of amazing for a midnight   show.

With Lopez on board, we're told Koonin then approached Conan with the   idea.  Conan's first reaction -- he didn't want to do to someone else   what was done to him,  referring to NBC's decision to blindside Conan.   Koonin told Conan that George had signed off, but Conan wanted to make   sure.  George then called Conan to reassure him he was on board and   thought they would be great partners.

We're told Koonin then began negotiations last week and the deal was   done in days, even though the Fox deal was still alive.

As for why Conan chose TBS .... the average age of a "Lopez Tonight"   viewer is 33, decades younger than the other late-night shows.  TBS is   the future ... so thought Conan.

And there's this ...George Lopez is saying, "I totally support Conan's   decision ... We'll have the best hair in late night."

!Si! !Conando! This is great news, because I don't have to wait till 11:30 to see Conan (though I do have to wait till November), and also because it will be on after the Office. Family Guy absolutely sucks, but a lot of people watch it (I think Family Guy reruns on TBS/Cartoon Network always win in their time slot, sadly), so that will be good for Coco.

First Jay Leno Bombs at the Presidential Dinner, but now he tries to link Conan O'Brien to one...

Jay Leno Links Times Square Terrorist to Conan O'Brien
A failed joke from a failed comedian
Quote
VANCOUVER — Jay Leno haters, who are legion, are going nuts on the Internet after the Tonight Show host poked fun at Conan O'Brien by linking him to Faisal Shahzad, charged with attempting to terrorize Times Square with a car bomb.

At one point in Tuesday's monologue, Leno showed a mocked-up Facebook page of the Pakistani-born American citizen whose explosives fizzled on the weekend. Although Leno didn't mention it, sharp-eyed viewers were treated to the fact that Shahzad is a member of Team Coco, the home of Conan O'Brien lovers.
