NWR Swag?
« on: May 17, 2009, 05:42:59 PM »
So, I was riding with my Dad the other day and noticed he had a patch on his dashboard for a forum he is a member of. I thought that was pretty cool and it got me wondering: could we set something up like that for our site? Maybe some shirts, bumper stickers and patches? It could help pay for server costs and what not or maybe you could just donate it all to charity if you wanted.

Is anyone interested in seeing something like this happen? I wouldn't mind having a NWR coffee mug. What are your thought's on this? Is it a feasible endeavor? Would people buy stuff? What type of merch should be offered?

I think this site had a store back in the PGC days.
It was nice. I would mind if it resurfaced.

Anyone want to sell their PGC t-shirt? I'll trade my PGC E3 2002 DVD for it...

I definitely want to do something with NWR swag.  The t-shirts gotta make a comeback, IMHO.  I think what we'll do is maybe come up with some designs (maybe five?) and have you guys vote on them.  This will take some coordination on our end, but I think it'd be a cool thing to do later on this year.

I would love to do an update to the PGC shirt design with a Wii Remote/Nunchuck on the front and NintendoWorldReport on the back.  Maybe with a tagline like "1999-2009: A Decade of Dominance."

hahaha or maybe "1999-2009: Putting the Ten in Nintendo".

Im bringing this back up to say I would wear a NWR hoodie just about everyday. I am a hoodie wearer.

Then a t-shirt with RFN quotes on the back would be awesome. I wonder how many people would wonder why "man beams" was on my shirt.... Actually I am not sure about that anymore! lol

I could go for an NWR coffee mug. It would be especially appropriate considering I post the most mornings after I've been up all night, times when I'm usually drinking a lot of coffee.

And if/when you make t-shirts make at least one that isn't white, I have a bad habit of ruining white t-shirts by spilling things on them.

And make some long sleeve shirts! I like those.

LOL, we should just launch a Cafe Press site. Don't they make all of those things for you?

hahaha a Lindy bobblehead doll would be full of win.  I'm not even gonna lie about that.

This idea is on the back burner for now, but I'm always thinking about it.  Couple of questions...

White or black shirts?  I hate white shirts, personally, because as mentioned, you spill something on it just once and you're screwed.

Selection?  My initial thought is coffee mugs, t-shirts, and hoodies.  However, this is kinda pedestrian, and really doesn't cater to video games in any way.

Maybe do something through a site like Cafe Press. Then maybe the site could start to make a little money, and you guys wouldn't have to learn how to make everything.

I would buy a mug, t-shirt, and hoodie. Maybe think about doing something like a timeline selection. NWR, PGC, and older site names could be their own shirt/cup.

White or black shirts?

Neither.  But that's just me.  I probably wouldn't wear one anyway.

Selection?  My initial thought is coffee mugs, t-shirts, and hoodies.

Add shot glasses to the list!

How about something Wii or DS related?  I'd like an NWR DSi case.

Just offer what Nintendo does: DS cases, Wii Remote holders, and playing cards. And as a special bonus for longtime fans, give out buckethats.

I second this. Black hoodies for the win.
