Banjo-Tooie is up!

So who is going to purchase the XboX Live Arcade version of B-T? I know as soon as I get the chance I will. It fixes the problem that hurt B-T the most, which was the framerate. Considering I loved how smooth B-K was for Arcade I can't wait to play this. Not to mention, as a long time N64 fan, the hot swap feature is in!

I will be getting it too as soon as I can within the near future.
Now all that's left is that Goldeneye remake, or perhaps a Perfect Dark release because I have yet to play it.

I'm basically "meh" on this I don't have a 360. Liked B-T, but it's collecting was tedious sometimes. Don't get me started on the FPS sections, I absolutely hated those.

Perfect Dark FPSing didn't need to be in B-T. That FPS temple in the first world would've worked as a normal platforming stage.

I liked the FPS elements of B-T.

If I had a 360 I'd grab these just so I could experience the Stop-N-Swop mode as it was meant to be.

Though the crazy code to unlock the stuff in the original N64 game were nice to have as well.

Banjo-Tooie is an awesome game, it was one of the "last hurrah" games on the N64. I'm still amazed at how large some of the worlds are, it really goes to show you what the N64 was capable of when a developer actually tried. That they managed it without the use of the Expansion Pak is all the more mind-boggling.

The FPS levels might have been more interesting if they didn't recycle levels from Goldeneye. I know it was supposed to be a throwback, but it seemed more like an excuse to be lazy.

It's great that it is being re-released, even if it isn't on a Nintendo system. I recommend that anyone with even a slight interest in platformers give the game a go.

The FPS sections are either like it or hate it. I hated them because they felt so out of place. B-K didn't need FPS sections to work, and it's one of my favorite N64 games.

Banjo kazooie and tooie are the best games ever made, it is as good as mario and zelda in my book. Too bad they left Nintendo :(

Well, I hope you X-boxers get a kick out of it as much as I did, if you haven't played it before, and like a good creative funny adventure game, this is a must buy!

Well guys I downloaded and put a couple hours in. WOW I forgot how fantastic and diverse this game was, it took everything that made B-K great and expanded it. The size of each world is epic along with the overworld. Also the game holds up extremely well visually now, the framerate is smooth (something B-T really struggled with) so it really is the game I'm sure Rare wanted to make for N64 but hardware limitations made it difficult.

I also collected a Banjo-Kazooie cart in it for stop n swap, it says I get the old egg so it looks like I'll have to go back to B-K and see what it unlocks! It is great to finally see the mythical stop n swap realized.

I've been playing it at work on my breaks, and I forgot just how much...talking there is in the game.  The characters just never seem to shut up at the beginning, and you can't skip most of it!  It was amazing, though, just how easily those N64 controls came back to me as I was getting the feel for the Xbox 360 controls, as things were pretty much mapped to what I thought they'd be.  I was also pretty surprised at just how well the game holds up visually.  I'll just have to see as I play this game bit by bit if the gameplay is a lot more enjoyable without all the technical problems the N64 version had.

Yeah the visuals really do hold up well and I think that is because they are stylized. They just work for this type of game. It ads to the charm of it regardless of how old the graphical technology is.

An aviator is one who flies a plane. I think you mean an avatar, a representation.

Besides the Stop n Swap mode, how does the game look? B-T was awesome-looking on the N64. Did Rare clean it up a bit or did they make it shiny?

It is like what they did with Banjo-Kazooie, the visuals are pretty much unchanged just "crisper". Similar to what N64 games look like on VC where the resolution was bumped up. In addition to that the framerate was smoothed out as well. The game still holds up really well visually especially after the framerate improvements.

I don't know because I've only collected one cart. It ads a new depth to the game and if you were any kind of fan of B-K back in the N64 games it should bring back memories of the promise of Stop N Shop. Are the rewards amazing from what I understand? Nah, but if you hold any nostalgia for B-K you will appreciate it.
