Will everyone please go out and buy season one of the Sarah Connor Chronicles?  Season one was good - Season Two was absolutely-fan-fucking-tabulous.  Apparently Season 3 is up in the air for renewal.  So, if everyone on earth goes out and buys a copy of the Season One DVD set, maybe FOX will renew for season 3.  Please?

Fox will do you & SCC wrong regardless of how many DVD sales there are. Didn't they already move the show to network grave planning slot (friday nights)?

Personally I thought the show was interesting but it never really hooked me. Hope it gets a season 3 so that they can atleast wrap the show up properly and not leave a bad taste in viewers mouths for when T4 is released.

I'm pretty sure T4 will just leave a bad taste in our mouths. ;)

Yeah, I was sad when they moved it to the Friday night slot, but this season was so good - and the season finale was AWESOME - I just assumed it was renewed.  Then, I find out it's not. :(

my friend is angry at the franchise because the timeline has been ruined by all the movies and this tv series.

i love the show and watch on Hulu or live. I'm not buying it.

The cliffhanger for end of Season 2 is megaton.

I'm  with you Bob, but I doubt TSCC is going to be renewed.  Hopefully, it will go the route of Family Guy and get canned, picked up again by a different company, and then magically be reborn on a different network.  Who knows, it could happen.

Is dollhouse in trouble already?
I don't think fox wanted it to succeed.
Network shows do not do well on friday nights. Why? because there are never any re-runs.
Thats why cable channels like USA can have multiple friday night shows become successful(Monk & Psych).
They get reran again that night and throughout the week. you get multiple chances to catch it and get into the series.

Why don't network channels take the same approach? Or make a TV channel that is like HULU and rebroadcast shows from all the other channels on different days &/or times slots they don't normally air with reminders to catch new episodes when they air on the channels they originally air on.

I couldn't muster the interest in Terminator. Its like Smallville, maybe one or two good personalities, but everyone else just don't cut it. I am extremely interested in Terminator 4. I am looking at it as a reboot, rather than a true sequel. Hopefully it will clear the palatte of T3.

Dollhouse is awesome. And Castle is good.

I've also caught some reruns of Stargate Atlantis, where Jewel Staite took over as doctor. Its seemed to have turned around from the last time I was watching it. The show was getting a little too silly.

I liked Season 1 of Terminator, but season 2 is where it really took off.  And Shirley Manson is a creepy bitch.  If you gave up before season 2 started, I really recommend going back and checking it out...

so i just watch T3 again, why is it so hated? I really don't get it. It just seems everyone jumped on a hate wagon for stupid reasons. The movie is not bad by any means. I've seen some shitty action movies and this wasn't bad at all. I also watched both Terminator and Terminator 2. Now im like super hyped for Terminator Salvation, i wanna see the tv show too. Though, I just cant imagine it being very good.

I liked T3, it was a fun movie. Also Sarah Connor Chronicles is more character/story driven then the movies.

From what I've seen among my friends, T3 is looked down on largely because they've elevated T2 to a ridiculous degree.  T2 was apparently such a defining moment of their lives that nothing could have lived up to it.  One guy in particular compared the T-1000's "That's a nice bike" line to the T-X's "I like this car" line as if he were comparing Shakespeare to Hannah Montana.

Of course, I have plenty of criticism for T3, too.  Mostly, it stretched my suspension of disbelief too far.  As for the TV show, I caught an early episode.  It looked very, very bad.

I lost interest with the Terminator franchise once it, well, became a franchise instead of just a movie and its sequel.  I liked T3 as an action movie.  It had this feel to it that action movies have not had in YEARS.  It seems that after Columbine action movies changed.  They all focused on aiming for PG-13 ratings and went overboard with fake looking CG (ironic since T2 was such a pioneer in CG affects).  T3 felt like an action movie from the 1980-1995 era.  And for that I loved it.  It was just such a blast to see a new movie made in that style.

But I didn't like it as a Terminator movie.  Terminator just worked so well as two movies.  T2 tied up the loose ends and provided a clear ending.  I know all studio films are made to make money but with T2 it appeared that James Cameron had a reason to make the movie.  He had a reason to continue the story.  T3 has no such purpose.  It exists entirely to make money.  James Cameron wasn't even involved.  I'm glad they actually made a good movie but it killed my interest in any future Terminator projects.  The truth is T3 is no less redundant or blatantly commercial than Escape From the Planet of the Apes.  The only difference is the quality.

When I look at something like Terminator I wonder if from a business perspective the amount of new content exists to satisfy a demand or to create it.  I don't think T3 was created to fulfill demand from the movie going public for a new Terminator film.  I think the idea was more "hey remember those Terminator films?  How about going out to the theatre to see a new one?"  I see the same attitude with the new Star Trek movie and that recent animated Star Wars film.  A product no one really asked for is put out in hope that people will decide they want it once they find out it exists, because it uses an IP they have fond memories of.

that new star trek movie looks fantastic (visually at least). It is true star trek basically died after enterprise, it sucks because i used to watch it daily and now there is basically nothing. There is Star Gate, which my dad watches daily, but that show to me is a pile of crap. I can't get over how badly its done.

I consider T3 to be non-canonical. That's the only way I can derive any enjoyment from it.

Relevant.

I suppose.  But then, I could take virtually any movie or series and point out stupid things in them.

1.) Initially, the time paradox is the point of the first movie.  Later, they decide they want to create multiple timelines and crap, which actually does a better job of explaining things, but in a less fun way.

2.) The author of this article seems to forget (not know?) that Skynet doesn't know who Sarah Connor is.  Remember, in the first movie, Arnold kills two other Sarah Connors before going after our Sarah?  The "Phone Book Killer".  Yes, Skynet can keep trying again, but, as Kyle explained in the first movie, the Human resistance found the time machine just as Skynet was sending the first Arnold back - so John quickly sent Kyle in and then they blew it up.  Obviously, the machines have built multiple time machines, but we don't know how hard they are to build and how easy it is for the resistance to blow them up.

3.) a.) I don't think machines can "have" emotions - Obviously, they're allowed to show them - it would make them better at infiltrating camps and such.

b.) I think the idea is that the liquid metal can simulate living materials.  And blowing up half of California early on with a nuke isn't a good idea - you'd end up blowing up Miles Dyson before he could make your chips, etc.

4.) Not a fan of alternate timelines, but if the writer understands that they exist, why is he so concerned with point #1?

5.) #5 is win.  One of my biggest problems with the third movie.  The first movie was about Skynet stopping John Connor (through Sarah Connor) and letting the machines win.  The entire second movie was about John stopping Skynet (though Cyberdyne) and letting the humans win (earlier).  Then, the third movie comes along and tells us it doesn't matter what happened in the first two movies, we're going to blow everything up anyway.  Perhaps that's why I liked the television show so much - they're still working to prevent Judgment Day.

if Terminator 2 was the end of the franchise, Sarah would have woken up. And never had a son, and everything would be sunshine and rainbows and she wouldn't be sure if everything was a dream.

either that or the 2nd ending where John is a Senator in the future would have been the final ending.

James Cameroon said in audio commentary he wanted to do a Terminator 3.

T3 was going to happen regardless of who directed it. T2 did not end on a note that it concluded everything, just this battle. T3 was inevitable Accept it.

T3 was goofy, but still enjoyable but not as great as 2.
T4 is a soul less simple action movie, that is a start of a new trilogy that is supposed to connect to the original. I don't like the fact T4 is part of a new trilogy.

T3 wasn't the problem.

Telling me that everything we were told in T1/T2 about "No Fate" was a lie was the problem.
