^This.

Why they didn't announce a USB storage media is beyond me. Why are they taking this in baby steps?!

I'm pretty sure Nintendo is being cautious and taking their time so they don't make it easier for the homebrew/pirate crowd.

Wrong, Homebrew has been using SDHC and USB storage for a long time now. As a matter of fact, I regularly play videos on my off a 1TB USB hard drive on my wii...

Is the surprise game the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
Supposedly a trailer should be on the internet sometime soon.

You know, I don't care what anyone says and anyone angsty about this can go to Hell, but I think this keynote was pretty big for Nintendo.

First, they actually updated the Nintendo with demos and videos from the conference. Not only that, they offered an update during said conference.

I was underwhelmed by the lack of Wii announcements, but the updated SD supports, game announcements and new info on DSiWare make me excited.

I mean they may be trying to make sure it won't be easy to "crack" VC and WiiWare games and open those up to piracy. I know a lot of those VC games are already heavily pirated and those are a lost cause trying to defend, but there are still new Wiiware content coming out that Nintendo wants to make sure that only those who've purchased it will be able to play it.

You have to realize Nintendo is EXTREMELY paranoid about this sort of thing, even moreso than most companies.

MW 2 trailer was a lousy non-trailer. Didn't mention systems. Wii is generally expected.

It seems they got rid of the Call of Duty name. It's just Modern Warfare now.

rumor has it may not come to the Wii. thanks, Activision.

That shouldn't be a factor at all. The game ticket stays on the Wii even if the game is copied to the SD card, and it should be no different with USB. The reason why SD channel took so damn long is Nintendo probably tried to have the games load straight from the SD only to realize they painted themselves in a corner with a nearly non-upgradable system architecture. Hopefully people got fired over that and letting the stupidly obvious holes in the Wii security pass threw....

So Modern Wartfare is announced for ps360/DS/psp2/wonderswan, right?  Why activision would support the DS is beyond me.

So MW 2 is NOT coming to the Wii? I thought the Wii version was a big success for them. Why would they scrap that version?

Maybe it will be announced later on with exclusive Wii features and such?

Maybe Modern Warfare is art, so the dev/pub won't consider it for Wii.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was never released on Wii. The only COD games on the Wii are Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War.

COD:WaW has sold between 500k and a million copies. Probably much closer to a million. Off the record Infinity Ward says MW2 is for 360, PS3, and PC. My guess is Treyarch will do a port fort the Wii.
