So what if she said she was gay? How is banning someone for that any more acceptable than banning someone for being gay? Sure she didn't need to state she was gay, but how is there any harm in doing so? Any negative comments or insults that she received because of it is soley rested on her shoulders, but I'm sure she understands that.

There is no difference in banning someone for being gay than there is for stating that they're gay. It's the same thing. It's shameful and bigoted.

on the other hand, this guy makes a good point on the subject. It almost reverses my position on the subject, but on the other hand if you want to seem like a shallow self promoting douche bag you should have that right too. Do Not Judge Lest Ye Be Judged right? The rule is stupid because it lets a hateful minority have their way. But, There are terms you sign on to before agreeing, if you fail to read the fine print it is Microsoft discretion to do whatever they want. She needs to give her everlasting gobstopper back and maybe they'll change their mind.

That guy doesn't really have a valid point. Sure she didn't need to label herself to the XBL community as gay, but I can't see the probelm in doing so. He's trying to label her as someone who validates themselves as gay and nothing else, ehich may or or may not be the case. Besides even if she was it's her prerogative and I can't see any harm in doing so as long as she realises what her actions may lead to (e.g. XBL fags insulting her).

Banning her account is not the right way to go about it, even if it is within Microsofts "rights" to do so.

It would be ironic if I had to lock the locked thread comment box thread.

Well there's really no way of knowing her intent. It's just a muddled up situation. The way they went about it was I think wrong. There are more courteous ways of doing things, ways that won't anger parts of the population. I wish i knew Microsoft's intent because that's the part that matters.

It would make some sense though, as there is a reason those threads were locked.

Congrats, it was a pretty awesome way for the thread to end. I was just hoping that with my "My name is Travis Touchdown and I approve this thread" a COOL and FUN mod woulda came in with "My name is [not pale] and i DISSAPPROVE this thread" and perhaps posted a picture of a banhammer. That woulda been sweet.

Uhmm no, i wasn't going that deep.  Their names were being thrown around as people in a porno.  That's over the line as far as I'm concerned.  You don't get this thread either.

Yet so was every other forum member and we didn't have a problem with it, even included ourselves in the joke. That's what the funhouse is for afterall, isn't it?

****.

[pretends to make a "Rate the Last Reason a Thread was Locked thread"]

pointless lock.

Stogi probably gets the most thread locks ;)

The second category would be a very fun stat for the funhouse!
