Well I like the mock up packaging.  And I'd definitely pick up Prime I and II if they had Wii controls and 16:9 widescreen.  I mean, they were two of my favorite GC games, and how could I resist playing them again?  I'd hang on to my GC versions for sentimental reasons, and sell my Prime III if suc a trilogy set ever came out.  Which it won't.

The packaging would force me to buy it.  But, I'd still get 'em even it were just 1&2.  I never beat them on GC because I started getting motion sick.  But, I've been rehabilitating with my friend's Halo 3, just don't ask me to play Portal.

Errr... I think you guys are missing the fact that this is the Trilogy and contains all three Metroid Primes...

MP3 should've been on a dual-layer DVD to allow for proper FMV.  I don't like seeing crap FMV in my hawt endings.

Absolutely. I think the GC disks could hold a max of 1.2 gb, so even if each MP game used the maximum space on a GC disk (and I doubt they did) they still should all be able to fit comfortably on a 4.7 gb Wii disc and with plenty of space left for extras. Because remember, this is about a Wii-make rather than a direct port. Obviously, the controls will need to be updated, but why should Nintendo stop there? New features, new FMV videos, improved graphics, etc. should all be added.

You're right.  I'm sure re-releasing old games will be an important part of every Nintendo console from now on. 

I don't understand why even those of you interested in Wii-makes would want a trilogy set.  Don't you all already have Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii?  Would you really want to be forced to buy it again just to get the Wii-makes of Prime 1 & 2?  This is more something that would make sense at the end of the Wii's life, like how the PS2 has all these budget trilogy bundles and such now.  But when stuff is current it's not very user friendly to bundle a previously unavailable product with one already available seperately.

All the fancy packaging in the world won't get me to buy games I already own.  DOWN WITH WII-MAKES.  If you want me to buy a remake it has to be such an enhancement over the original game that both the old and new are worth owning.  Metroid: Zero Mission and Resident Evil on the Cube would be good examples.

If they were to remake Metroid Prime 2, they can start by making it not suck. Most of the game was either awful, boring, repetitive, and/or annoying. Spider Guardian? WTF, Retro?

I don't. I also never played or owned Metroid Prime 2, so really all I'd be buying over again would be Metroid Prime 1. But having it all in one package and with motion controls and (hopefully) improved and additional content for a reasonable price would easily make it a worthy purchase for me.

The only reason I haven't got MP3 yet is it is still full priced, but I'm certain if I wait long enough I can get it cheaper. But if it came with the other 2 games, I'd definitely pay $50 for it.

You're going to be waiting a long time.  Nintendo has more or less announced that they have no intention of lowering the prices on any of their games because they feel they don't have to.  The games will still sell at full price.  Yes, Nintendo does publicly announce the sort of stuff that other companies all do in private and that everyone assumes they all do but can never quite prove it.  I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Nintendo publicly announces that they're releasing remakes in place of new games because they can get away with it.  And if they ever get into the habit of intentionally releasing unreliable hardware to increase sales due to people buying replacements I'm sure they'll announce that, too.

We're already seeing it happen. For example, BWII was $50 when it came out, but last time I checked on amazon it was only $19. If you wait long enough the same thing will happen to MP3. Regardless of what Nintendo says, the price of Wii games does drop over time. There may not be a Player's Choice per se anymore, but games do get cheaper as the demand decreases.
