First games to get for Wii/Gamecube?
« on: December 23, 2008, 09:29:35 PM »
I'm working my way towards the Wii, and wondering what games to get other than the obvious (Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing :) ). I absolutely am opposed to shoot-em-up games, but I also don't want to waste my money on a piece of junk.

Thanks!

Super Smash Bros Brawl, unless that's already firmly placed in your obvious list.

just ignore anything with naruto, soccer, or sonic in the title and you're good to go

Lol. I'm assuming that this also includes Shadow the Hedgehog?

Endless Ocean is good.
Zack & Wiki is the most overlooked game on the Wii.
No More Heroes if you are of age.
Star Wars the Force Unleashed is a lot of fun as well.

What games do you actually have on your list so far jrlibrarian? And what games have you liked in the past, on other systems too? It'd help a ton if we knew more about your preferences. I mean, we could easily throw out tons of suggestions, but if you want actual quality suggestions it'd be nice to have a little more info!

If you like RPGs I highly recommend Skies of Arcadia....that is if you can find it anymore.  Hands down the best RPG for GC in my opinion even if it is a port of the Dreamcast game.

If your a fan of 2d Platformers then Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat for the Gamecube and Wario Land: Shake It for the Wii are a must own.  Both games are 2d platforming at it's finest with lots of top notch gameplay.

WORLD OF GOO
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

If the name of the game is GC games, then how about Bloodrayne? This was actually one of the few great M-rated third party games to ever appear on the GC and it doesn't get as much talk as it should. I highly recommend it, though.
