Still at work, and its still snowing out... So heres the skinny:
I work at a BMW dealership that was recently sold to Ray Catena, so we're becoming a private dealership as opposed to one under the North America BMW company umbrella. Due to this and the economy, jobs are being sacrificed obviously.
My position mainly requires me to tender money for any services rendered here, but theres a lot of other small things too. I help out the call center by picking up any called that fell thru the switch-board, I file a massive amount of invoices daily and alot of other random stuff around here. I like to spice up my job title by calling it a Junio Accounting Position, and its not that far from the truth. I handle a shitload of cash, checks and credit and need to make sure everything gets paid for and collected for the propper departments. I think this is where I shine because some of the (mainly) girls in the call center (the operators) are trained to cashier in case i'm ever out, or just need coverage for lunch, and they all suck at this.
I work closely with the accounting office because of this and the main person that i work with swears i'm the only one that knows what i'm doing and always jokes that i can't take any sick or vacation time because the money will all disappear. Its things like that, that keep me confident because if word spreads that my job is getting done and getting done well with me, and not done or done poorly when other people sit in for me.. well its a confidence booster.
