I was fairly close to becoming platinum and now I am.

Gold reward was ass last year (calendar really)

I really like my mario hat so I went out of my to buy Zelda Spirit Tracks and Super Mario Galaxy 2 ASAP to get enough points. Free is free, so I am happy but I rather have something more rare.

Some survey's have popped up recently about some random small stuff so I would take them. They put me over the edge.

My thoughts on possible Platinum award:

1) Mario galaxy 2 sound track
2) Special Colored Wiimote with motion plus and nucchuck
3) Princess peach actual size parasol
4) Super Mario Brothers 1 with updated graphics/ orchestrated music: wiiware exclusive download code
5) Samus Aran action figure that transforms into a ball
6) Link green cap
7) Duck hunt updated game with better graphics more modes and online leader boards wiiware exclusive download
8 )  Zelda Spirit Tracks treasure chest that makes opening sound fx and has replica green rupee inside

My thoughts on possible Gold Award:

1) Wii sports resort frisbee
2) Kirby plush toy ( that squeaks  "Hi !!" )
3) Collection of high resolution computer desktop wallpaper featuring mario, zelda, metroid.

 :cool; :cool; :cool;

Sounds good to me, especially the Link hat :D Does platinum members get both the Calendar and what not or just that one item?

I wish they would do for us like they did with the platinum members in new york and gave them invites to the SMG 2 event and what not specials.

I would like a collection of Zelda Wii artwork and cel as a platinum gift :D

I had 950 coins in this year (hit 600 on Day 1, registered my DSiXL, completed a few bonus surveys here and there, etc...) so I went ahead and topped off at 1,200 (double platinum!) *just* in case there's some kind of option to get two prizes or anything.  Would have hated to have had all those coins waiting and lost out on the ability to get an extra prize.  Besides, I have enough coins banked to get Platinum for the next two years... might as well redeem them.

Thank you. I was thinking of including HD in the title but I know that's asking for too much. Even though the Wii could probably push 720 p on some basic games like a remake of Super Mario Brothers. Didn't some Xbox and PS2 games run on 720 p with component cables?

I can't speak for the Xbox, but the best PS2 games ever got was Progressive Scan (Valkyrie Profile 2 is the only game that comes to mind right now).

Only one thing. you could pick between mario hat or punch out demo thing, but you couldn't get gold member thing.

I'm thinking if I should register Mario Galaxy 2 or wait until July so it can start working for '11. I just went over into platinum status so why bother adding more when in a month those points could go for next year. I 'intended to buy' that game so I will get 10 more points and the post survey so I could get a ton of points like 80 from galaxy 2 so I'm thinking about saving it, is that a good idea?

The Xbox was capable of outputting 720p and some games did take advantage of it, though I don't know how common it was.

Do what I do with intend to buys - register the game's code immediately, then exit out of the survey (by closing the window or clicking a link).  This registers your game (don't have to worry about losing the code or forgetting which games you haven't registered) but doesn't give you any coins until you go back and complete the survey.  When you do, you'll still be awarded the Intend to Buy bonus and the Early Registration bonus - at least, that's how it worked for me at the beginning of this Club Nintendo year.

Won't the intend to buy status stay around for a while? At least until July?  I'm not worried about losing the code or forgetting which games I haven't registered (this is the only one left) . I just don't want to get coins for this year when I'm already at Platinum status.

Intend to Buy sticks around for awhile.
Early Registration does not.

If you just register the code, then click out of the survey, you'll have nothing to worry about.  It'll all be waiting there for you later.

UncleBob, i'm pretty sure the survey are separate coins. It adds coins to your account as soon as you enter the code. I am not sure how you would lose the code anyways, just leave it in the game box.

I've got a Picross 3D survey I'm saving for July that didn't issue the coins when I entered it. All I did was back out and it's sitting in my to-do list.

No, it doesn't.  Trust me.  Or read the FAQ.  You do not get coins for registering a product.  You get coins for completing the Product Registration survey.

Sadly, I've not played Smash Bros since I had to send my Wii in for repair and the internal memory got wiped.  It sucks to think about having to unlock everything all over again. :(

Q: Do I get points for registering a system? (I don't remember)

I wanna register my new Black Wii for the warranty but I don't want the points till after this month is over since I'm already Platinum status for the year.
