I just logged in and took the surveys for all the games I have registered.  I am trying to get to platinum status for the free gift at the end of the year (Elite Status baby.)

I wish the Super Mario Galaxy Soundtrack was available for an award because I would buy that in a heart beat...or even just download it.

Nintendo can fit ALL OF THE GAME AND WATCH games on a DS cartridge I have no clue why they limited it to 3. Wasn't the game and watch games like a Kilobite of data or something I remember hearing they released in the 70's or something.

BACK THEN they were. Back then they had custom pictures for the screen so the code was essentially binary. Hell it probably was written in binary. Now they have to recreate each of those sprites, each of which would be like a 4kbgif. OH WAIT THEY COUDL STILL FIT IN EVERY GMEAND WATCH GAME AND MAKE IT AN UNLOCKABLE EXTRA IN PHANTOM HOURGLASS I AM SO ANGRY NOW.

Binary? I kinda expected these things to consist of hand-designed circuits, not a CPU chip that executes program data.

I'm platinum!  I have 810 coins (sadly, I had registered some games on an old My Nintendo account, but no longer can access it). 

I don't think I'll get Game an Watch DS.  While a perfect port, I don't think it looks fun.  I think I'll get the 8-bit Mario DS game case.

The website is working for me as well, but Virtual Console and WiiWare don't count for me. GRRRRRRRRRRR

Anybody know what to do with VC games ? I did all the surveys for disk games. By the way I did actually put good comments in the box. I mentioned how disappointed I was in Brawls online, and I did put Mario galaxy and Twilight Princess as the games I bought a Wii for and that is true.

I only got 560 points which stinks because I have tons of Cube and GBA stuff. I bought a freaken e-reader that should be like 300 points.

You know, looking over that list a bit, it really appears that games that are "in print" are what they're letting apply to the offer.  For example, Excite Truck and Twilight Princess came out at the same time - but only the one that's still in print counts toward coins.

Super Mario 64 DS is pretty much the earliest game on the list - and it's still in print.
There are a few exceptions - Elite Beat Agents, Electroplankton and Tetris DS come to attention... Perhaps Puzzle League and Master of Illusion as well...

If you see a game on the list you don't have...try renting the game from Blockbuster...I did this once and got the Wii Registration Card.  Of course I registered Wario Ware without owning the game...because I felt like I had owned it renting it 5 times.

I did that way back in the day. It was for the zelda collection disk, I didn't registrar enough games.  I just opened the boxes and wrote down the number. The people working were looking at me, because I wasn't stealing anything and they don't care about some number that was in the box.

Woohoo!  Spent about an hour this morning filling out surveys and then dug out a few games I hadn't registered yet and now I have Game & Watch.  (Well at least I've ordered it.  Sometime soon hopefully I'll be able to play it.)

Makes me want to dig out Game and Watch GBA cart and play some.. man, I love some of those games.

If I understand this right, you need to earn 600 coins in a year (July 1 through June 30) in order to reach Platinum status.  At the end of the year you get some free stuff and your status is reset.  Assuming there's nothing I want to spend coins on at this time, is there any incentive to earn more than 600 coins per year?  Since I already have Platinum status, would I be better served not registering any more games until after July 1, 2009?

If they stick to this pattern of only counting games that are currently in print some of the things that you can get coins for now might not get you coins in July

Well Nintendo never promised that all games will be eligible they always said that some will be eligible I wish Wiiware/VC games were counted properly (coins wise) and more of them would be eligible but alas having enough for a free copy game and watch is awesome in my books.

I just finished all my surveys- I had to input some Wii and DS codes in manually and the final coin count is 850 and platinum status. I've never played the Game & Watch titles are they any good? I would be willing to hold out to see if anything better is offered later. Soundtracks please!!!

Soundtracks are usually around 2000 stars here, that would be around 400 coins. Mostly N64 crap. The SMG soundtrack is available at twice that price...

To me, Wii CD soundtracks have become obsolete since talented people have made it possible to rip the music from games.  By ripping, you can find tracks not included on the CD and maybe not used in the game.  In Mario Galaxy's case, you can get the separate layers of the tracks and generated the different versions the game plays out.

Let's say there was this Nintendo fan. Like, hardcore, lifelong, remembers hating Sega for those commercials making fun of Mario Kart type of Fan, yeah?

And let's say he registered for Club Nintendo, saw he had only registered 2 games before, so he dug through all his stuff, found all the games that counted right? Yeah?

Then say he started entering them and doing surveys... and then... about halfway through his DS games (he does all the DS games first so he can keep track) .... he gets an idea...

He enters just enough of his games to get platinum status. Say.... he has 640 points.

And he doesn't register some other games... a bunch of other games... so he can register them at the start of next Nintendo year, yeah? Get a head start. That sort of thing. A 280 coin headstart. Maybe even 340 coins, if he opens some games still in plastic wrap. Just waiting for next Nintendo year, ready.
