Does Nintendo need to change the pack in game?
« on: December 04, 2008, 12:31:18 PM »
I think if they did change the game I think it would be to Wii Sports Resort. Why do I say this?It is because with WM+ the 3rd party developers would be more willing to use WM+ in the future.Sure there is that EA Tennis game and I believe The Conduit is going to use it.Bundling Wii Sports Resort would open the floodgates of developers using WM+.

Interesting, but I say definitely no, UNLESS they combine Wii Sports resort with the old Wii Sports.  Wii Sports is synonymous with Wii for most potential buyers.

I think WM+ should just be packed in, regardless of usage in any packed in game. Wii Sports must continue to come with Wiis for the exact reason Pale already stated. Buying a Wii means getting Wii Sports to many potential buyers if not most.

Alright I agree with you on that. Wii Sports is synonymous with the Wii.
Hmmm would adding both games to the package raise the price of the console?

That would be a good Idea Mr. Jack.

What do you think of this.Packing in something like MP3 or Brawl along with Wii Sports?

This is what should happen.
People think the Wii should get a porice drop after two years, but I think they should just increase the value by doing what Pale suggested.
That will make sure that all games from here on out should have no problem with including motion+ support as all new users will have the attachment & I'm sure most previous owners will go out and buy the stand-alone version cause its the new WiiSports.

But I'm sure Nintendo is too smart to do something logical, so I won't hold my breath.

Ding DING ding. Correct answer.

I might see Nintendo give a 500 wiipoints card to sort of get people to buy something on the shop, or maybe include on the console.

Change? Yes. Remove? No. What they should do is take Wii Sports and merge it together with Wii Play and/or Wii Resort and also enhance it so that it has online capabilities as well as MotionPlus support. Wii Sports is a killer app, so they should definitely keep it, but at the same time they should make it better.

If they pack in any game, it will have to be rated E.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

I like the adding WM+ idea.  However, I don't think Nintendo needs to add an extra pack in just yet.  I think that finally adding colors would really boost sales, when the need to eventually comes.

BTW, am I the only one who kinda sees the Mii channel and some of the other stuff as bundled games in a way? I think Nintendo would do well to expand on their channels if they want to increase the value of the system among non-gamers. For example, how about a horoscope channel? Or a cooking channel? Or um, a crossword puzzle channel? non-gamers would eat all that up, and would buy Wiis even if they never intended to buy any games for it.

And I also think the Mii stuff should be enhanced so that it becomes more like the Sims. And you should also have greater customization options than the ones currently available. The Mii channel should be upgraded to Mii channel 2.0...

That was released this past week in Japan.

It would be nice if the Mii channel could be upgraded but I find if you are restricted in tools that means you have to be more creative.

We'll vridge that valley someday Pro. Someday.

Anyways, isn't there anyone else here who thinks that Nintendo is getting ready to see how much money they can make selling Wii Sports Resort separately? They made oodles selling Wii Sports separate in Japan, maybe they're getting ready to monetize the western markets?

I agree Kairon. Wii Sports Resort should sell to put it politely a fuckton.

I don;t think they should take Wii Sports out almost anyone I know when they get their Wii. The first thing they do it play some Wii Sports even now.

Good for them. I really didn't see the appeal of those cards anyway. It's not a good (for my budget) that a $20 Wii Points card is a better impulse by to me than a $5 one.

I think Nintendo should either bundle Wii Sports Resort with Motion Plus or bundle both games. Like Pale said, Sports has become synonymous with the Wii and its the reason the console keeps selling.

You know you can buy 1,000 points right on the shop channel via your credit card, right?

Considering that Wii Play is still making the Top 10 in sales 19 months after first coming out, no chance of it being bundled with the Wii (especially since the Wii is also selling tons of copies)
