Same here. At first I liked the idea of Dexter but not really Dexter as a person. He was a really weird and shady person. But now, as the story progresses, Dexter seems to be coming into his own, even making inside jokes to himself when conversating with other people about his devilish deed. He's way more confident, but also way more conniving now. It's great.

With this latest plot twist, he actually met a man as formidable or more formidable than even he and to top it off, that nows his most cherished secret. I really can't wait to see how they resolve it.

I came in here looking for some Dee Dee love and talk about laboratorys.

I was sadly mistaken.

Yeah this season has been a great change of pace. While last season was action packed and exciting, this one analyzes more of who Dexter is and his code.

This season has been much better than I anticipated, cause I heard the first two seasons were based of the books, and there were only two books written.

This season of Dexter is bested only by the excellent (& final) season of The Shield.

So many questions, so many possibilities.
Whats gonna happen to Deb now that she disrespected the Skinner?
How is Dex gonna handle Miguel now that he thinks he can be his own man(hunter)?
How does Miguel handle Dex knowing that he purposely befriended him to his own personal gain?
What happens when Dexter tells Miguel that he is the one that killed his brother?
What about the wives? what about the children? what about the code?

Next episode is gonna be good!

But where does Black Dynamite fit into all this?

i think there were more than two books written, and season 2 has nothing to do with the books, and is also from the sounds of it the last book was weird.

I heard there were only 2 books, but i never bothered to look it up myself, cause i never planned on reading them.
how many books were there? are they worth reading or should i just stick with the storyline from the show?

I watched a few eps on the plane (Virgin Atlantic RULZ) and some of season 1 when it showed a few months ago. I'm hooked and put the entire season onto the DVD rent list. Stupid uni has slowed me down so i'm haven't even got them yet!

I really like it though it was on at an awkward time slot on TV for me so I missed every second episode and got a bit confused.

Time to join the technological race.
You got 3 options if you can't be home/watch when its on.
1) DVR - Once you get used to it, its hard to watch TV with out, record now watch later (& fast forward through commercials)
2) On Demand - I think all the cable/satellite providers offer this service
3) Internet - there are several different ways of watching TV shows you missed online, but I'll just mention going to the official website for starters.
I'm not sure about Showtime or HBO, but most networks usually offer all their original shows online.

I know you probably knew all that already, but I decided to type it out anyway.

Yeah, thanks. I'll probably just check out the episodes I missed online some time, I don't watch many shows though and don't worry too much about it so investing in some of those things isn't worth it for me.

SO do you think Dexter is gonna miss his bachelor party because of the kidnapping? or maybe he's on his way to his bachelor party...?
This season is crazy so far. I can't wait to see how it ends.

I didn't think about it, but he could be on his way to his bachelor party. It's so weird. Dexter is always a step ahead of everyone else, but this season he is among those that are being played.

Well he's usually the only on e aware of himself(his true self) so he doesn't have to stay a step ahead every moment of his life.
He can't plan out everything at every moment of every day like he has to now with Miguel involved in all hours of his day
+ a wedding, a baby, his secret exposed, Rita & the kids, & the Prado's to all juggle at once. Can't possibly stay ahead of all of that..

That's true. Still, he should have suspected Miguel of foul play as soon as their conversation was over on top of the police station. He shouldn't have ignored Miguel's personality and ambition.

But I think Dexter thinks he's holding all the cards right now with that missing ring that has a big nice fingerprint on it and that he wouldn't expect Miguel to make a physical play so soon. How are these two supposed to make it through to the wedding?

Miguel = Dexters best man
Miguel's wife = Rita's bride made (i think)
Rita helped the wife Find Miguel @ LaGuerta's
LaGuerta got a hint from the wife about being out all thursday nite (plus dark SUV with halogens)
Miguel trying to sabotage Dexter's sisters badge (sleeping with the CI)
Miguel possibly making a play on Rita (revenge for messing with his marriage)

The wedding is going to be a disaster if it even goes down at all. I don't even expect the bachelor party to go good if that even happens at all.
That's not even factoring in the Skinner. there is just much that can go wrong between now and the finale
I hope the last episode is an extended ep. so they can fit more into the last two eps of the season.

Hmmm. Your right. There is a lot that can go wrong and will go wrong.

My prediction?

All hell will breaks loose and somehow Deb finds out the truth.

the last episode was great, but now i want to watch the next episode!

**** what if Deb finds out his brother was the ice truck killer, the next season is probably going to be deb finding out about his serial murdering, and his decision on what he has to do with her, and then they bang and things get really complicated

Fascinating episode. I don't see how the next episode can NOT end up with a cliffhanger, looks like tons of stuff happens.

I haven't seen it, but I have read the first book in the series.  Right now there are 3 books available, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter, & Dexter in the Dark.  A fourth book, Dexter by Design should be out sometime in 2009 from what I can scrounge up.

Like I said I haven't seen the show at all, but I loved the first book, haven't read the others yet.

I think Dex will be safe in regards to anyone knowing what he does, or what he is. The last episode might end with a cliffhanger, but after these events happen he will still be seen as the usual naive and innocent Dexter.
