Would you want these games for Gamecube LAN?
« on: April 08, 2003, 07:47:49 PM »
With Nintendo's rumored push for LAN capability for the Gamecube, a new opportunity may be opened for developers eager to exploit the feature.  Below is a list of some games that could be developed with the LAN party feature.  Which ones, if any, would you like to see?

Doom
Duke Nukem 3d
Shadow Warrior
Quake Series (1-3)
Unreal Tournament
Starcraft
Warcraft
Descent Series (1-3)
Command and Conquer

I don't care much about LAN, what I want to see is ONLINE. It'd be much more usefull to most people. With online support LAN would probably be supported as well.

For control reasons, strategy games like Starcraft/Warcraft would particularly blow on any console. You just need a mouse and keyboard, you'll know if you've played these games.

None.

C&C has gotten progressively worse w/ each remake.  The original was the best IMO.

Starcraft was on the the N64.  Needless to say it was a POS.  lol.

You're absolutely right.  Starcraft, Warcraft, C&C or any other real time strategy PC game wouldn't be the same without a keyboard or mouse.  And as you mentioned, Starcraft 64 and C&C 64 didn't do so hot.  For Gamecube LAN strategy, it looks like the rumored Advance Wars for the GC will be the game to own.  If and when it comes out.

I would like to see Mario Kart as a LAN game, simply because it would knock the Japanese consumer's socks off.
