Sigh, Margeret almost dethroned Bad Girl as my favorite female NMH character, too bad she was a pushover.

I am fighting jasper batt and get him down to six points of health and can't cause him to lose health even though I beat the snot out of him for like ten minutes and he still had six points. What gives?

which ones that? Some of these names aren't as memorable as those in the first game, probably because theres no intro before that battle, instead not knowing their name until AFTER the fight.

Well I thought the name sounded familiar... unfortunately I can't help you with him because I haven't reached him yet. I'm having too much fun playing the side-job minigames and earning money to afford every outfit in game. I've used a different outfit for almost every boss fight :P

My only advice to you is suck it up, and keep tying. FIGHT LIKE A MAN! hope you're not playing on sweet..

That's a fight you're supposed to lose, if I remember correctly.  Henry then charges in and saves you, and then you can fight the boss normally.

I had an idea for a No More Heroes animated movie. Of course the movie would be done in the style of Batman: Gotham Knight, Animatrix and Halo: Legends. Basically each boss that Travis fights would be done with a different anime company with their unique style.

Since I finally beat Darksiders, I started NMH2 Today. So far, it's the same game as the first. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I do enjoy variety and innovation and I hold the original in such high esteem. I only beat the first boss (Nathan) so I don't have too much to go on. Stamina training is teh lamezorz. I can't get the hang of it. Pointers?

Pointers?

If at first you don't succeed, try try again. I found that multiple tries helped me figure out what was happening. It's old school buttom mashing and twitch gameplay that you get better at as you play more.

On the running one, I discovered after several failures that you have to point in the direction you want to run to go that way. Before I was just pressing the run buttons and would go the wrong way on the treadmill because I wasn't pushing the correct way.

I just baught the Halo: Legends DVD and I came up with an idea for a No More Heroes anime movie. Basically it follows the same premise as the Halo anime movies. Various animation companies would handle each ranking battle that Travis, Shinobu and Henry participate in during the movie. I see alot of potential for the movie.

Could there ever be DLC for No More Heroes 2? Maybe something where you could fight some of the bosses from the first game such as Dark Star, but with the controls of the sequel.

First of all, DLC is lame. Keep that sh*t out of my No More Heroes. Second, Dark Star wasn't a boss. Fail. For shame, that scene was one of the best of the game.......

NO ONE CAN TOP BAD GIRL. NO ONE EVER TOPS BAD GIRL.

Margaret? She's just a flimsy Touhou cutout with a theme song; she's Doctor Peace with working legs and less personality. And Doctor Peace's fight music was much better.

Yay! I beat this game! (On easy...) I didn't have to make MoronSonOfBoron beat it for me! I feel all accomplished and gamer-y!

...I do like the first one better though. This game had its moments, but I dunno, it felt like it had less meat, or less intense boss characterizations, than the first one....

The way I like to look at it is that both games are silly.  However, I have a simple rule for silliness in my games (and anime, for that matter): if you're going to be silly, then go for the ****ing Gold and be as absurd and energy-packed as humanly possible (examples in anime: Gurren Lagann, Gatekeepers, Vandread).  Both games had flashes of this, but the second game tries to take the ludicrous premise and treat it straight-faced and serious after around the giant robot fight.  To me, that just doesn't work for a game like this, and I was bored by the game's midpoint.  Of course, there are other reasons as well for that (lousy gameplay with ancillary characters, not enough retro games for how much you need to play them to buy the bonus crap, lack of variety, etc.), but that was the big one for me.

I'm actually less driven to continue playing this game because they removed the overworld. I liked driving around and even searching for the hidden goodies in the ground and dumpsters. It just feels less interesting to not have that part of the game. I think it's nice to have the quick movement option when I'm trying to get things done because I hated how I had to choose a bounty mission, go to the place and try once and if I failed I had to go back and do everything again to get it, but not having the option to drive around at all is very disappointing.

Which makes it even sillier. I think you just have an underdeveloped sense of humor.

I liked the noir direction, it felt like a natural change from the "cheesy kung fu" feel of the first game.

I do have a major complaint about the lack of characterization for many of the assassins, however; one of Travis' most important character traits is that he treats other assassins with respect, a point that was very well developed and became a point of conflict for him in the first game. In Desperate Struggle, it doesn't tie in to the main revenge plot so well.

Well I picked this up Friday and just finished it.  For Jasper's first form (he has three), you'll have to counter attack when he charges with his car.  You'll clash and then Henry comes in.

Loved the action but the side missions where a disappointment.  First 7/8 where 8 bit games.  Some of them are to overplayed in video games (the pipe one is an example of this).  And the only one that's using the 3d engine was the catching of scorpins which was in the first game also.  That mission sucked even in the first game and I'm not sure why it was in the second.  Kinda was expecting more motion control side missions similar to the first one's Baseball bat one.  Loved that one.

Also, the only way to power up your character is though to crappy 8 bit games though the GYM.  They really messed this one up.  Not only are they pretty bland games but you can fail them and to replay them you have to Pay again.  Money isn't easy to come by so you can waste alot of it just trying to level up your character.  The Fat Cat mini-quest is my favorite in NOH2.

I guess I really can't blame Grasshopper studio considering this game had a limited budget.  The insane action is back and as long as you stay in the missions the game rocks and I would LOVE some DLC--like maybe more missions as Henry or the other chick character.  Henry killed three of the top 5 so playing them would be great.

The final boss is disappointing. He isn't cool or interesting and we didn't get enough back story to really make the fight feel like the end. Worst part of the game.  Those Sylvia scenes were a little boring. Also, it seemed like we didn't get into the other assassin's character as much with the first game. Lastly, it was stupid how you start out at 50th then at random places skip ranks. WTF. Total lie.

Oh my God, I know.... even though Dr. Letz Shake was hilarious and awesome.

NMH2 is a much weaker game than the original. The bosses are far less interesting. In fact, 2 of the more interesting ones were from the first game though to be fair, I have 4-5 more bosses left. Maybe I'm just being difficult, but the last 3 bosses in the original (Bad Girl, Jeane, and Henry) were just plain awesome and I don't see this game topping that.

The game could have used a couple more months of dev time to work out some of the kinks. The camera in the Matt Helms and Million Gunman (f-u platforming) were especially atrocious.

The levels are shorter and sometimes, there is no level, just a boss. I keep wondering where the rest of my game went.

Building strength and stamina = ANNOYING

Henry and Shinobu are wasted opportunities.

Jesus Christ. First people complain that there's too many side jobs that are too boring, and there are too many thug baddies to beat up before you get to the awesome boss fight.

So he FIXES the complaints, and now you're complaining that there aren't enough side jobs and there aren't enough thug baddies to beat up?

I hate everything.
