That's cuz it's trying to keep up with the sequel.

I wonder if the HD game will get extra content.

Whenever we get a game ported to the wii, the extra content is usually something like waggle mini-games.

The HD game has new out-of-place costumes, and that's it.

Oh, I didn't even know there were any screens yet.

It looks alright. It pretty much literally looks like running NMH in HD on the Dolphin emulator, just with some better lighting effect and an HD gloss coating on everything. I don't think it's going to appeal in the slightest to anybody who doesn't already own a the game, but if they want to sink their profits into a remake that nobody wants instead of the sequel that everybody wants, I guess that's their business.

Maybe. Like I said, I'd be surprised if anybody bought this who didn't already like it.

Maybe. Like I said, I'd be surprised if anybody bought this who didn't already like it.

It's the reverse effect of the Wii Port Syndrome. When a big-name title like CoD4 comes out late on Wii most of the people who would want it already got it for PC or PS360.

Anyone who would have much of an interest in this probably already bought it on Wii. It will only appeal to the console exclusive people and even then half will turn it down because it is a late port.

Sorry, but all of the charm that NMH1 has will be gutted out with the HD version. Seriously, the Wiimote as a cell phone, that was the most awesome thing ever.

I hope this blows up in Marvelous' face... really, I do.

Isn't it weird that many Wii owners are begging for a port of Res Evil 5 on Wii yet despise the idea of NMH going to the 360/PS3...?  Hmmm...Why is this....

I don't, i'd like at least a NMH3: Ménage à trois

It's probably because after experiencing the DEFINITIVE version of RE4 (The wii edition that is), the fanbase that was CLEARLY there from the start craved a new RE action/adventure just as much as the fanbase that didn't own wii's, especially because having it control on Wii woulda been the icing on the diabetes cake.

Oh and probably because the general conensus is that NMH without motion controls (ie ported to other systems) just doesn't have the same charm as it would on the platform it was intended for...

In short:

RE5 with wii-controls > RE5 with traditional controls
NMH with wii-controls > NMH with traditional controls.

EasyCure basically summed up my feelings towards this HD disaster.

What's a shame is that MadWorld, which is basically off the wall like NMH was, didn't sell as well. What a pity.

Marvelous will somehow blame poor sales of Heroes Paradise on the Wii. Of course, that makes no sense, but somehow that will be true.

I'll at least try HP because I loved NMH but the original is still my favorite Wii game specifically because it used the Wii remote so well. One of the few Wii games I felt would have been much worse without motion controls. Well, now I have my chance to test that opinion.

And I still don't know why Wii owners clamor for RE5. Definitely not good enough to downgrade the entire game graphically just to run on the Wii when the same time, money, and resources could be spent on a RE (non light gun) game built specifically for the platform.

That's basically why we want RE5, not because we think it is the uber RE, but because instead of that, we got on-rails RE montages that were not what we wanted or expected regardless if wome of us enjoyed them or not.

Yeah, but wouldn't rather have a new game along the lines of RE4/5? Getting a port of RE5 is just enabling more of that laziness from Capcom. If these companies would make good games, people would buy them, but the releases have to be consistent. One quality game here or there is not going to cut it.

But that's exactly the point, we would want that follow-up to RE4 style game and that was RE5. Instead all we get is UC/DSC so if we don't get RE5, then we can atleast hope for RE5.1(alternate waggle version). If they aren't gonna put in the effort for that, then we are stuck with on-rails adventures for the next few years.
