Moving to Florida
« on: October 08, 2008, 02:26:09 PM »
After some significant looking(and applying) around the East Coast, I was finally offered something worth taking down in Tampa, FL.

Naturally, I'm making a move down there to start the job. October 25th appears to be my departure date with an arrival date of probably the next day or the day after. I'm looking forward to the move and I'm hoping it goes well.

Anybody on the boards live in Tampa, or Florida at large?

Tampa is an alright city. My brother use to live there. It gets really humid and it's a little trashy, but it's right next to one of my favorite FL beaches: Clearwater.

Have fun down there. Tampa bay is known for one thing; strippers. I'm not even joking, check it out.

LOL this is very true. I used to live there and there were strip clubs everywhere. It is actually amazing how much it has cleaned up though over the past 6 years since I lived there. Mons Venus is still there FTW though.

Also Clearwater is an awesome beach and I'm glad that I'll be so close to it again. My dad used to have a restaurant right by the beach so I was over that way all the time when I used to live there.

Oh yeah, if anyone is ever down there, feel free to gimme a shout. We'll rock out some games for sure.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

But Tampa is on the West Coast...of the East Coast. I live in West Melbourne, FL, which is basically a straight shoot across from Tampa to the *real* East Coast. I've been to Tampa, and Clearwater, they're nice. Tampa rules because of the fully nude strip clubs, though they can't serve liquor.

I go to college in Jersey, but I've lived in southwest Florida all my life.

We're pretty sweet about voting here in Florida. I suggest you watch the film Recount to pump yourself up for the excitements of a Florida election, if you're into that sorta thing.

Haha, yeah I was there for the Bush-Gore election... that was a real treat. I suspect this election will be just as fubar-ish for FL.

Southwest FL, is that Naples or something like that?

Update: So moving this Saturday... getting stressed and antsy. This week is going to be a bitch. Movers coming Wednesday morning.
