Does anybody else picture Ian a in bar in his thirties with some kind of ironic t-shirt like "Tell your girlfriend I said thanks" or "Leave Lindsey A-Lohan" while trying to chat up 18 year olds and randomly saying stuff like "LAWL" and "ROOFLE OWNED" and "I DID IT FOR THE LULZ?"
I wonder which geezer is trying to be cool here.
Also Ian, sidebar, argument lesson. You cannot be a populist (Using "we") when most people here disagree with you, AND when you are trying to criticize the "new market" for not being as cool as you. It comes across as ridiculous and makes your posts so easy to gloss over and ignore in the future.
Deg, I know you've been here longer than me and all that, but your rants against Ian ARE personal attacks and those are against the rules. Come on man.
I disagree. Since most of Ian's posts are his personal opinion, and his personal opinion changes to whatever's convenient at the time, he'd actually have to have a "person" before I could personally attack it.
But the issue of "what's cool" and "what's popular" and the image of "your dad trying to be cool" has little to do with the topic material and was clearly meant to flame.
AND I also jumped onto the flaws in his argument because you cannot be a populist (we ain't gonna take this crappy Wii any more, dang blammit!) and an elitist (psh these Nintendo fans and their standards that are different than my standards) at the same time. One must give out to the other as they are diametrically opposed. So my post was more than just a dig at somebody, it had very real merit and advice.
So, nyeh.
