I have to say I'm impressed by the closeness of the visuals between the two versions. The Wii interface should be a good match for this game too. I might buy the original for 360 to get ready for it. I never did get around to buying it.

More interview with codemasters, they talk a little bit about how they achieved the graphics on the Wii.

Comic Con footage, watch it in Youtube HD or else it will be a blurry mess

The game is looking pretty good in motion and the graphics are good.

Very impressive visuals.  I like how they are making a new Overlord for Wii instead of just downgrading the 360 version.

Jonny according to Climax they are fully taking advantage of custom coding from TEV, but games in 2009 really show what the Wii is made of if they actually take the time and do the TEV coding because it really shows.

Quote from: From Interview
We know that, ultimately, if we make an Overlord game that is really good, then it will find an audience. Games that is good tends to be the game that sells, that’s all we can focus on from the development side.

I'm glad somebody understands this. The game has a lot of promise, looking forward to it especially since we have no idea yet when Pikmin 3 is coming. I would guess at the earliest we will see a new Pikmin this Fall/'Holiday shipping window' but more realistically it wont come until 2010. Overlord will be out this summer so I don't too much competition with any of the Pikmins unless the 2nd Pikmin remake is released this summer as well.

Wow, that really does look nice. It honestly does look like the 360 game. I'm sure side by side you could see the difference but it still is impressive.

Like Jonny has said before, this is the kind of graphical performance we should expect from developers on the Wii, it is capable of much better graphics than most of its titles show.

The game looks pretty stunning I almost thought it looked like the 360 one in places. What it is the best and most hilarious though is reading the comments on it at youtube.

I really don't see what your point is? Is it wrong to be impressed with what they are doing with Wii? That it actually resembles the 360 game? Doesn't mean the game will be fantastic but the developer deserves credit for pushing the Wii more then most are.

Like Golden said, the reason people are impressed with Overlord is that so far the game looks identical to the 360 version, without any sacrifices made and some real proof of effort being put into this game.

Its not really about graphics, its about the effort and that's what is making people take notice.

A pretty strange observation I'd say. Personally I am GLAD to see it looking decent visually and it having a fluid framerate because I am quite sure the gameplay will be just as good as its predecessor which is an amazing game. The visuals show me they are trying with this and aren't slapping together a downgraded port of the 360 version like so many other games have in the past where you can tell from the visuals it was not built from the ground up.

Not necessarily. I just find it curious that when a game looks similar to something from a different console, everyone goes ape ****. I don't even see the point in comparing graphics. To me it seems like a superficial way to ramp up the value of the console you purchased. But hey, that's just me I guess.

Must be why I own a PC with the best graphic card available, a 360 and a PS3 right? You are obviously missing the point about why people are excited, it isn't about the graphics but the fact it looks like they aren't just sloppily throwing it on Wii like so many other 3rd parties are but are instead are showing love and care via the visuals, which emphasize the fact that they are a 3rd party developer taking the Wii seriously. Not to mention it looks to be doing things others acted like Wii could not do, so in a way it shows how ridiculously lazy 3rd parties have been.

Why good graphics in a Wii game matter? Because of the presumption of equal effort: A dev who puts enough effort into a Wii game to make it look good (and even push past what was thought possible) obviously put a lot of effort into the Wii version and there's a good chance the other parts of the game will have received a lot of effort too.
