The level creator is really intimidating. I'm going to need to plan out my levels before I even attempt to make one. I'm waiting until the final game is out, just so I can collect all the items in the single player and work more on my ideas.

How long does the tutorial take?

How well does the controller work? Can you hook up a mouse? That was one of my main concerns was doing this all with dual sticks which I would think could become frustrating fast.

No mouse hook up, but the controller isn't bad.  The system is very well thought out, given what is possible with the traditional control scheme.

That said, the learning curve is pretty significant.  Just as depth is confusing in the gameplay, it's also confusing in the editor.  I may have these reversed but I think, L1 and L2 change the thickness of the object (relative to screen depth) and R1 and R2 change the position of the object (relative to screen depth).  Whenver you push one of those buttons the camera movves so you can kind of see, but it gets quite cluttered if you have a lot of things on the screen.

Other buttons and tools take a lot of learning too, but I have a feeling it will be quite smooth for those that take the time to get used to it.

It looks like Media Molecule realizes that the controls can be a little unwieldy, and they'll likely patch them (and add new Sackboy abilities) after release.

Oh man I hope so, I had some very frustrating moments this evening.  As it stands now, I just can't see casuals latching on just quite yet.

That one was a pain. I eventually got it, but it's easy to mess up on.

That would be cool.  I've tried only w/ randoms thus far and its been a lagfest, perhaps it'll work better w/ PSN friends.

I'd be down for that, but I'm sure it would still be laggy.

Wow, I'm really impressed.  Yes, it's "only" a platformer.  But it really has the feel of a Nintendo game through and through.  It so refreshing and different that you can't help but be instantly engaged by it.

Creating stickers with the Playstation Eye is awesome.

How do you smack them?  With R2?

R2 or L2. While being able to move your arms, push the stick away from the other guy then quickly push toward them. You can make the gesture on your own to practice.

We should get a four player online thing going before the beta ends.

I'll have to try the slap tonight!

As far as pix, I'm thinking of getting the Eye to butter utilize the game.  Do you guys use it for anything else, or does it just kind of sit there?  Is 40 bux the best deal I'll find?

Also, I'm going to need a 2nd controller so my wife can play.  Anyone have any recommendations on a less expensive 3rd party option thats reliable?

I got the Eyetoy for $32 on Amazon JUST for LBP, so I can't comment on it's other uses.
