It's only 40% done, so lets hope it only gets better as far as graphics are concerned. The gameplay is already there.

I wonder if this could possibly be more of a remake of Dead Rising instead of a port?

Well I read there was already going to be a restructuring of the story.

Hopefully, they will alleviate some of the difficulties with having a time limit to find special events and such.  It is frustrating when you are doing something and then you get a message that states you must go some place else and complete an event to get 100%  Meaning you must stop everything and go...and you may not even be ready for a boss battle or anything like that.

Here's a link to the article I think Spak was referring to.

Highlights:

  • The story structure is a bit different from the 360 version, however: Instead of having your janitor friend Otis continually tell you about things to investigate via your transceiver, the game will proceed in a more traditional, less time-sensitive fashion.   ... "This results in us being able to put a lot more story volume to the game."
  • The Wii version of Dead Rising will feature new enemies and items, as well as a behind-the-shoulder camera system modeled after Resident Evil 4's. (Nakai noted that Frank won't be able to take photographs of things in the Wii version because that system doesn't work very well with this new camera.)
  • "My brother is a casual gamer, but he's the sort of person who doesn't like it when the visuals are too intricate or elaborate -- he gets nervous about whether he's good enough to play it at all," [producer and director Minoru Nakai] noted. "That was a very novel surprise to hear that from him. Looking at it that way, I wonder if Wii users are a lot more forgiving about the visuals of the games they play.

Ouch to that last one.

Actually I think I would prefer the game with Zombie Miis.

This horror games are almost too intense for me...to the point I can't play them, even when they are fun.

Graphics look good. I guess this is more of a remake than a port since Capcom probably had to create all the character models and levels from the ground up for the Wii. Still lame that this isn't an original game though. Oh well, it's better than not getting the game.

All the survival horror games with the threat of dying almost immediately and the atmosphere of always being in danger is just too intense.

I freak out and don't know where to go.  That is the reason I could never play resident Evil 4.  I played for 15 minutes and once the madness started I just couldn't do it...

Yes! I would definitely go for that as an unlockable mode or some sort of "big head" code. I really wish I could have more than 100 Miis, as I ran out of room a loooong time ago.

I have to admit to the same thing too. I... died in the village in RE4 on the GC... and haven't had the courage to try replaying the Wii version of the game since. However, I gave RE4 Wii to my younger brother and he beat the game.

Dead Rising isn't that hard. I beat it on the 360 on my first or second try, and went back to get Zombie Genocider too. If they take out the photography from the game, then that's completely retarded, and takes away basically...half of the game. When you take pictures ir switches to 1st person view...I don't see how that wouldn't work with the "new" camera system. I thought this was a good idea at first, but when we read next week that it's at 90% (from 40 this week), then I'll just give up hope altogether.

As for RE4 - go back and play it again. In the village just get as much ammo as possible, then go in the little shed to the far right (from where you enter the village) and stay in there, killing people one at a time until the bell rings. Get in lots of kicks too, chances are you'll save a ton of ammo and kick a lot of heads off.

I can't remember is that area time based as well? If it is just grab all the ammo and evade as best as you can if a enemy is in front of you shoot him or her that will make a path and you can run through.

Here is what I do. I basically start on the left side and go around to the right making stops whenever is a new place I need to get into when I get to the place Brandogg is talking about after I leave there there is two paths one to the right and another to the left. DO NOT GO TO THE LEFT PATH there is a chainsaw manic up that path that wants to relieve you of your head!

Instead head right grab the items and when you reach a wooden box to the left of you there will be a villager to the right standing next to a cow get rid of the villager. If by this time the bell hasn't rung you have 4 choices. You can run into the shotgun house, you can go to the house across from it, You can stay outside and hit and run or you can go and do Brandoggs strategy.

If you decide to go to the shotgun house here is my strategy. You can go into the house where the door is open if you do this a chainsaw manic will come out of woodwork block off the lower floor first grab the items head up the stairs grab the shotgun get the items and go by the bed and wait. Get out your shotgun and blast at the maniac. Also try to get them to line up and let them get close and at last possible moment blast them. The closer they are when you use a shotgun the more damage it does.

When it gets to crowded make a path and jump out the window with the ladder. If at this point the chainsaw dude is loose head to the house right in front of you get the items there and if you feel they are getting too close block the door there is a metal door in there you can knife the lock. Head in grab the items and wait.

There are some things you can do go by the door and when you see the door shaking open the door forcefully or get your shotgun out aim at the door and blast them when they open it or use a grenade.Hopefully by this time the bell has rung. If not it is going to be a pain to get out use a flash or normal grenade, after you hear their cries of blindness or after the explosion run out of there and float like a butterfly sting like a bee.

Brandogg has a good idea for saving ammo. Here is mine shoot him in the face that will make him/her wince in pain then kick him/her that will put him on the ground and you can knife em.

My ammo conservation tip helps when there is 2 or less enemies. Brandogg's will work with lots afterwards you can throw a grenade or use your shotgun.
 Hope that Helped.:)
