Topic: Top Spin 3 Volleyed into Stores

2K Sports' latest iteration of the popular tennis series is now available in stores for both Wii and DS.

 2K Sports announced this past Tuesday the arrival of Top Spin 3 in retail outlets across America. Players will be able to take control of the Wii game through use of the Wii Remote's motion control, as well as the Nunchuk for movement.    

Top Spin 3 for the Wii won't feature online connectivity, but it will include its Create-a-Player mode, allowing players to customize their on screen avatar and in play style.    

Top Spin 3 is available in stores now for both the Wii and DS.

"The Wii version features motion controls, 40 venues, and multiplayer party games. The Wii version features 16 licensed players. The Wii version does not contain online multiplayer gameplay. This version of the game runs on a modified Top Spin 2 engine, and features stylized graphics. Both the graphics and the control system have had a mixed reception from reviewers."

That sounds unappealing. I hated the motion controls in Wii Sports' tennis. While there may not be a good way of implementing it, having to direct shots by hitting sooner or later was lame. This is a real shame, as tennis games can be great in general. Sega Sports Tennis 2K2, for example, was by far one of my favorite Dreamcast games!

Why is it that none of the promise of Wii Sports has been fulfilled? Well, I hear Tiger Woods is actually looking like a great golfing game. But everything else! ... or is there a bowling game that I missed?

I don't know how promising any golf game would be...

I have a very hard time judging the strength of my shot in Wii Sports' golf. Such a problem is especially frustrating while putting.

And that's a problem because in real golf you easily and immediately know the exact distance any shot will go. I am interested in Top Spin 3 (and Tiger Woods 09). Because the game uses the nunchuk t may include a way to aim shots with the analog stick, I don't know because last time I checked there weren't any non-magazine reviews on Game Rankings
