My new favorite movie. Although, Cloverfield is pretty high up there as well.
But no doubt, Jumper is freakin awsome!!

Heh, the effects were cool, but it didn't really go anywhere.

I just finished reading the book this morning, and really loved it.  The movie is only loosely based on Jumper and its sequel Reflex, and the character Griffin was made up exclusively for the movie and Steven Gould who wrote the books wrote a book about Griffin to coincide with the movie.

Wouldn't want someone to get the jump on you.

(This movie was terrible. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.)

I'm a harsh critic and I thought Jumper was surprisingly not absolutely terrible though I had exceptionally low expectations. The action scenes were cool. Much of the love story should have been scrapped for more action scenes, but I suppose it was necessary for plot purposes as it essentially drove the entire story to its climax. Still, it succeeded when it was just being the big dumb action movie. That teleport battle at the end was kind of pointless yet it was the best part of the movie.

Well I suppose I was a little hyped up from watching it for the first time, but then my friends forced me to watch it again with them because they wanted to see it, so I ended up watching it a good number of times and feel that the above comments may infact be somewhat true.

Whoa, whoa, it was based on books? I need to get my hands on those. My biggest problem with this film was that while it had an interesting mythology, it totally forgot to explore it and instead filled itself up with bland plot and sub-par acting. If I can read more about the Jumpers and Paladins in a book that was apparently good enough to get a movie deal, sign me up.

Yeah, I have similar opinions about the film. It wasn't horribly bad like I was expecting... it just didn't really take itself anywhere. *shrug*

Also rat, don't Diss Hayden Christensen. The kids got some acting chops, just watch that Stephen Glass movie.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Hayden Christensen is so wooden you could use him to start a fire.

There are some actors that roll out of bed in the morning and it's oscar-worthy, and some that really need good direction to bring out a performance. Christiensen is one of the latter, and unfortunately he's been working with mostly poor directors.
