Mini-Games...Boring... I prefer the NES Classics
« on: April 04, 2003, 06:32:49 AM »
I just bought this game last night, and I'm confused.  When my character falls off the edge, why does he keep coming back?  Also, what's the deal with all the junk laying around on the screen?

The Junk are itmes. You can choose to play without them ( in VS mode that is).
And the knocking of screen thing: it's just a SSB thing.

SSB isn't about KOs, well it is, but not in the sense of most fighting games. You can either set a time limit and try to get the most KOs, or set KO limit, and the last man standing is the winner. There are also other modes, but those two are probably the most often played.

Or watch the tutorial mode that plays when you leave it on the title screen for a bit...

Argh!  Such naivity about the genius work that is SSBM!  I gasp.

Yeah, Strell's right.  Reading the manual generally helps.  There are lots of options and secrets and stuff in Smash Brothers, so you should probably read the manual, watch the tutorial, and explore the options of the game.

Heck, you could probably get by with just reading the back of the box.

I generally never read the manual until after I've started the game, unless I'm in the car or something and waiting to play it.  I like to challenge myself to learn things by myself.  But no one should have that much trouble figuring out stuff.  Obviously that junk is items.  He must not have played the first smash brothers, either.

I'll admit that SSBM is a little more difficult to get used to than a lot of games, but it's not that hard.  Keep playing and I'm sure everything will fall into place.
