April Fool's Jokes taken a bit too...

Seriously about games.  Last year was the whole Sonic and Tails in SSBM, which I found perfectly hilarious, but some people just didn't get it.  This year, some one wrote into the IGN mailbag complaining about Nintendo selling Silicon Knights.  I just think some people need to lighten up a bit.  But anyways, what other jokes did ya'll hear about the gaming industry this year?

Yeah, that was IGN Cube's joke. Nintendojo had one that Square was making FF X-3 a Gaemcube exclusvie (someone wrote into IGN's mailbag about that one, too). Starmen.net had a great one- they changed their site to look like a Pokemon fansite rather than an Earthbound site.

I read about Splinter Cell coming to VB at vb.ign.com over here http://www.virtualboy.info
"What if everything you see is more than what you see - the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps

On www.gccafe.com they photoshopped a screenshot of Zelda:TWW to make look like you could get The legend of Zelda for the NES in TWW.

Nintendophiles put up a story about how they were going to have to start charging to keep the site going. I actually got sucked by that one until I read the site the next day and realized it was they're April Fool's joke.

Working Designs translated their entire website into Arabic, and claimed that it had been "hijacked" by Muslim terrorists, and whenever you tried to do anything, a swirly-eyed militant leader would redirect you to Al-Jazera.com.

I think it was very well done and a number of people thought it was funny, but the general feeling was that WD shouldn't have given any attention or control over their joke to Al-Jazera.com, which was a real website.

People were just visiting their favorite website, getting to enjoy a pretty funny April Fools Day joke, and then getting to see disturbing Iraqi propaganda pictures of little babies bleeding from head wounds.

Eggy: No, Al-Jazeera hasn't had many restrictions in what they show. I don't think any American news channel has shown, or will show, anything near as graphic as what Al-Jazeera has.

I think, to prevent a flame war, we shouldn't discuss any war propaganda. But I will say this: CNN isn't the same as Al-Jazera. They do not humiliate prisoners of war, nor do they show off a bunch of gory pictures.

Well, I didn't check online for any April Fools jokes, but there was an announcement at my high school claiming IBM had just granted the senior class several hundred Pentium 4 ThinkPads.

Have you seen the April Fools joke in the EGM magazine. Turns out, in the codes section, they put up a little section-ma-jiggy on an Xbox Volleyball game (the characters were the same female characters from one of the Dead or Alive games). Well, anyway, they gave an awesome code that should have made all the women in the game topless. Well, since most people that got that pointless game were perves, they tried it out and found that it didn't work and people started to complain to EGM. APRIL FOOLS to those little perves. The next issue of EGM revealed the secret that disappointed some.

What's even funnier is the fact that some people wrote in to EGM complaining that the only reason they bought the game was for that code!  Serves them right I guess.
