Me at the Obama Rally (not a political discussion)
« on: March 22, 2008, 07:51:35 PM »

Guess which one is me.

Yeah, here's a tip gang: when someone asks you to get fired up at a political rally, don't do it, especially when there's a camera around. It was easy to get fired up for Obama once inside, but outside in the freezing cold I was screaming (not cheering) and out of sheer pain.

I was surprised that Obama came to So. Oregon, but he did, and pretty close to where I live to (not that any part of Medford is "far away"). His talk was nice, he took questions from the audience, and afterwards I heckled some Ron Paul supporters.

If you squint you can see that I'm holding a camera and taking a photo of Mr. Obama. I will get my photos developed in two weeks, and maybe once I scan them in I'll show you the reverse angle of this shot.

Both of these pictures appeared on Medford's newspaper's website, so maybe I'll be front page tomorrow morning, looking like an ass.

Probably not. I was linking to it because it has more details on Obama's visit and my adventure and impressions; the politically "charged" (wrong word, I'm hardly "fired up!") aspect was a warning, not the substance of the purpose of the link.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

I was *this* close to saying you were the nutjob with all those badges. But I can't quite tell who she's supporting so my next guess would be the person who looks like he's trying to catch a hotdog in his mouth.

In NV or ID? I moved from NV to ID like last month. Even so I lived in Jackpot NV, a town that sits ON the ID border so we always associated ourselves with ID anyways.

I hate where I live, but I love northern Idaho. I want to live close to Pend Oreille (pronounced Ponderay) or Sandpoint, that's where I used to live and have wanted to go back ever since we left.

Edit: On topic, it doesn't matter, Idaho always votes Republican so the Democrats usually don't campaign much here. Oh Nader does, he gets lots of support, but the Dem's usually stop in, wave as they drive by, and leave.  We've been getting a lot of Californians migrating to our state so things are starting to change though. (not that I am for or against change)

I find it difficult to imagine associating with Idaho.  It's like that scene in Wayne's World where they're using the blue screen to go to other states, but they can't think of anything to say about Delaware.  Just replace Delaware with Idaho (or any one of about 40 other states).

Idaho is a great state, they have HUGE lakes, lots of places to go fishing, hunting, mountains, and dessert. The state to avoid is Wyoming, and anything that calls itself the Midwest. I originally grew up in Kansas/Nebraska, god I hated those two states.

And see, Jackpot is like ON the Idaho border and is closer to Twin Falls than Elko (the next biggest town in NV) so everyone lives in Twin and works in Jackpot, cuz you know the Casinos make more money than all of Twin Falls County. But some people actually chose to live in Jackpot and half of them claim NV, half claim Magic Valley. I prefer ID over NV cuz I like the outdoors and you don't get nothing but sage brush in NV.

I only moved up here cuz I am, no longer eligible for employment, at any of the casinos. So I needed to move here to find a job. Hasn't happened yet but I'm hopeful.
