Hello everyone! Im a new member but have been reading for awhile.
I was at may Gamestop yesterday and they are having a midnight release! They are going to have Smash Bros tournaments before midnight!
Check your local Gamestops and see what they are doing!

In our little town of 12,000 our Gamestop had 100+ preorders!
I wonder if Brawl will sell a million day one? I think it will as long as Nintendo has enough!

I've attended two midnight launches in a mall, one for Halo 3 (didn't buy it, was merely "attending") and Harry Potter 7.

GameStop on Madison Ave by Auburn Blvd in Sacramento is having a midnight launch.

I will buy the game, and totally skip on the tournament because I would kill everyone and I'd rather sleep.

Texas always get their Nintendo games a day or two after the ship date...so it is impossible for us to a Midnight tournament on release day, unless it is Nintendo sponsored and they have worked to get the game on shelves everywhere on ship date/release date. Which honestly I don't see happening.

I believe Smash Brothers Brawl comes out on a Sunday, so that means most stores would already have the game a few days prior to that dated.

Goldenphoenix: this is true...which means Nintendo IS treating this launch very differently than any other Wii launch for a game...or for that matter Gamecube game launch.

This is very good for me...and I am definitely going to pick this up at midnight...just probably not at Game Stop because I do not have it reserved it. I will be picking it up at the local Walmart.

What does having it reserved have to do with anything? You don't need to reserve a game to get it at launch.

Well my GameStop isnt going to have any copies other than pre-orders.
Wait I think they said they will have 1 or 2 non preorder copies.

In New York City there is the Nintendo World Store, they have regular events and things. I reserved my copy there in hopes that I can get it earlier that anyone else. They haven't posted on their site yet though. Now that we know the game is shipped I wonder what insanity is going to happen that weekend.

I have a question should I go to my gamestop's midnight launch. I ask because I have to take a bus down there and the buses stop running at midnight. What to do? I have to know by 8:30, so please let me know.

According to the list of closures on the local news the Midnight Brawl Launch at my local GameStop has been canceled due to the absolutely horrible weather. Oh well, I wasn't going to it.

if you can walk back safely, then by all means go.
