I don't know if you can do anything about this, but I can't start a new topic or a new PM or use the full post editor in Mobile Safari without switching into the Mobile site because it won't let me click into the text box. I can use the Quick Reply box just fine.

Same thing happens when I am on the DSi browser. I can look but can't touch.

While using Chrome the search verification (select all the cats) does not work when not logged in.
it keeps reseting the cats and tells you to select them all again... and again.... and again.

also the advanced editor is out of control (in Chrome).
I used the drop down text size selector and it added [size=78%] to every line in the post and not just the one I highlighted. This was ofcourse after I went back to edit the post.

many other things get screwed up real bad while editing a post too, like the yesterday when I edited a post to include a link, since I forgot to source the article. after I hit save, it screwed up the entire post and made me click back until I had a page that was still unaffected by the edit so that I could re-edit it from scratch. even after the re-edit, certain tags wouldn't stay where I put them or just outright disappear like I never put them there.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the advanced editor?
especially those of you that use Chrome and/or edit post every once in awhile?

Forum software was upgraded.  Stuff probably broke, but maybe some stuff was fixed.  Please let me know here.  I had to remove Facebook integration for now as it was causing errors.

And if you do see any weirdness, try logging off and back on first or clearing your cache.  The CSS changed a bit.

Can there be a text limit something like 420 or 560 (3 or 4x140) for posts? A lot of people have taken to writing short stories as posts or lazily quoting an entire post when they only want to reply to one or two sentences.

I want to read every post to see what a variety of people think on different topics, and I personally think that forcing people to be more concise with their ideas will actually advance the discussions on the boards. I'm not sure how you balance that out with quotes, (maybe institue a separate 140 or 280 character limit on quotes) but I don't think super long rants and posts are helping in any way.

Have I got a website for you;D

A lot of people have taken to ... quoting an entire post when they only want to reply to one or two sentences.

I agree this is a problem, but there's really no way to enforce a policy of only quoting a portion of the post.  I also don't like that Ian doesn't cite who wrote the post he's quoting.

If there were a post limit, people would just make double, triple, or quadruple posts to keep talking (like some do now when quoting multiple people), which would just make things a mess. Also, few opening topic posts would be able to fit within such a limit, most notably just about everything in Talkback.

The "NWR Interactive" section has disappeared from the mobile forums. The banner is still there, but the forums are not. This happened very shortly after I posted in Talkback. All other forums are still listed despite me having posted in them.

Did you click the banner itself?  if you click one of the banners, all the forums within are removed from the page.  Click it again to restore them.

Oh yeah, that fixed it. I didn't realize the banners were so... interactive.

Would it be possible to add Skype to the list of services in our profiles along with stuff like AIM and MSN?

I think there's a problem with the new site and login cookies.  I haven't managed to stay logged-in to the site for more than a few minutes (my login is set to "forever", by the way) before the site logs me out.  It gets really annoying quickly, and it just started doing this today.  Can someone look into this?

I thought it was something to do with my computer or browser, I am having the same problem. I keep getting logged out despite having it set to stay logged in forever. It started a few hours ago.

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago.  The first time I would open a page in a new tab the forum would log me out.  This happened every time I visited the site for about a week and then it stopped happening.

Just curious, which browser? We haven't made any changes to any code that could cause something like this.
