I know the game will be released in just a few days and will render all speculation useless and outdated, but might as well have fun before the end.
I've been watching some of the videos involving the stickers and something has me puzzled.
While most of the stickers are white some colored stickers have snuck in.
The first color discovered is black. It first appeared on the Sticker Power Up update.
As you can clearly see in this picture, an Andy from Advance Wars sticker is being used. Note the color; its black. Someone in here suggested that black stickers might indicate that they are the main stickers of the character. As in, black sticker=a character's main sticker, not easy to get. The black Andy sticker also appears on the
US sticker video. At first, I thought it wouldn't mean anything, until I read the latest Sakurai interview. In the Stickers section they show us
this image. It basically explains how the stickers will work and it could be just an example of how the final game will be like. Note the color of Luigi's sticker, though. Its also black.
We know that Luigi is pretty much in Brawl, so black stickers could indicate that it belongs to a playable character, so this means that Andy could be playable.
But then I saw the
Japanese sticker video.. In the video, the player uses a Louie from Pikmin sticker, and its blue.
When I saw that I came up with another theory; the color of the stickers might indicate its rarity. You know how in trading card games they have stars that indicate how common or rare it is, and if its a foil card is very rare? Well, I think Sakurai might have implemented this onto the stickers.
So, here's how I see it:
White sticker=Very common and easy to find
Blue sticker=Somewhat rare, but can still be found
Black sticker-VERY rare, you might have to play Intense mode to get it, or beat a challenge to get it
I admit I might be looking way too much into this, but I do find it weird that there are color stickers, so they must mean something.
Your thoughts?
