I stopped watching Nickelodean after they cancelled Angry Beavers, a magnificent cartoon. The whole Rugrats thing was getting too big as well (the show wasn't great when it started off, got great as it become semi-popular, then just sucked as soon as everyone started watching it). I watch Cartoon Network almost 24 hours a day- it seems like every other second they've got some show I love, especially on Adult Swim.

I pretty much gave up on Nickelodean after Rocko's Modern Life was cancelled. That was one of the best. Angry Beaver's wasn't too bad, though. I watched some of that, not like I watched Rocko.
If the graphics are bad, I'll ignore them.
If the style's been used before, I won't care. I don't get sick of styles.
If the story is weak, I'll make up my own.
I only care about gameplay.

Blegh, I hate TV sports, except for some baskteball and hockey every now and then (since they at least have something going on most of the time). My favorite channels are Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Fox, and The Gameshow Network (). I also watch Noggin but ONLY for Daria- god knows why Noggin picked it up, but Daria's one of my favorite cartoons ever and I'm not going to miss it.

Next on SICK SAD WORLD!

A cartoon that I have really started to watch lately is Ren and Stimpy. Now that I undrestand the humor it is hilarious.

Daria was my kind of humor, tons of irony and not laugh out loud humor, just funny things. It's a pity how all of the really good cartoons slowly get canned, but now I have bursts from strong bad to cheer me up.

no sports.........wow i love espn- i love comedy too but come on- march madness, nba playoffs are comming, mlb season openers (go phillies)
well i think there are some good programs on espn- pti, around the horn, sportscenter, all the games and highlights, the sports reporters...
i could go on
but of course i love comedy central- south park, the daily show (the best news show period), chappel's show
but the best sport of them all is definately football

March Madness is exciting, especially since I live in Kansas and KU happens to have a very good men's basketball team. K-State has a very good women's baskteball team, too. But really besides hockey and basketball, I just find watching sports on TV to be really boring. Football to me is just a bunch of guys running into each other for a few seconds, then sitting there for 10 minutes. Baseball, while I lvoe to play it, seems like it's a strike or foul and when the guy actually does get a hit it's usually caught.

I love Daria so much, probably because she represents me and my sister so well. We're both pretty apothetic, sarcastic, cynical people and a LOT of Daria's humor hits home with us.

no football.................i am truely saddened
honestly- football is my favorite sport in the world- not only do i love to watch it, i love to play it
i play on my high school team- its lots of fun but so demanding of your time that i dont know when i have time for games or tv anymore!!
i am constantly running and lifting everyday that its hard to just relax
of course i find time on the weekends with my friends and girlfriend, but besides that hardly no time- except at nights
but i really love football and i hope to play in college
yeah i have kansas going all the way baby! (dick vitall)
i bet its real crazy in kansas right now...am i right??
we in PA go crazy for all of our teams- especially the sixers right now, but the phillies also...
yeah daria does have some good humor but i just dont like it as much as other shows
but daria does remind me of some movies such as best in show and of course spinal tap- great movies if you havent seen them
they have good humor in their diologue so you have to listen to get all of the good stuff
some of my friends dont have the patience to watch those movies but if you get the chance- i highly recommend them

Well, Kansas is pretty much divided between the two main colleges, Kansas University, or KU, and Kansas State University, or K-State. I personally don't give a rat's ass about the whole rivalry between them, I'm just happy if my state makes it into the Final Four, especially two years in a row. There are people who aren't happy about Kansas going this far, though. I have a friend who was born in Chicago and is a hgue Illinois fan, who of course was eliminated right off the bat,  believe (by the same merrit, K-State mens' wasn't even in the tournament) and really wanted Duke to beat KU because he was gonig to be pissed if everybody started wearing KU shirts. Of course, KU beat Duke AND Arizona, so he's not too happy.

yeah i have a pool going for the tournament and i took kansas to the final four
unfortunately i had them loosing to kentucky who lost in the elite 8
so basically my brackets fell apart and i lost all the money i had bet (around 5$....)
it wasnt a big loss but still five bucks is five bucks right???
well i am hoping kansas wins now since i like the coach (roy williams) and the team they have
it seems like they have the best over-all players
we shall see how it all turns out though over the weekend

Does no one like Spongebob Squarepants? I love that show!

Top cartoons would be... (In no particular order)

The Simpsons
Futurama
Spongebob Squarepants
Ren & Stimpy
Angry Beavers

Umm... Crap, I suck at listing things. I know there are a ton more.

some of my favorite futurama quotes ( it think this is right)

fry and amy are in amy's car with the window all fogged up
(the car hauler sees fog on the window of amy's car. he wipes off the car and sees fry and amy...playing cards)
fry: hahaha.... they think were making out......hey...why arent we making out...
amy: i dunno
(amy and fry start making out)

or

fry: it seems everywhere i go, there's amy. when i'm at work...there's amy. when i'm watching tv...there's amy. when i'm at the store...there's amy. when i wake up after sleeping with amy...there's amy.

oh yeah i am not a big spongebob fan- its alright but nothing special i thought

Man, I'd really wish MTV would start releasing Daria on DVD- there's no dobut in my mind they'd sell. Right now they only have the two movies. Get with it, MTV!

Haha, yes! Cartoon Network is gettingThe Family Guy. They've really been the savior for great cancelled Fox cartonos lately- first The Oblongs, then Futurama, now The Family Guy- the only one tehy don't have is The Critic, which Comedy Central has.

Holy crap. O_O I just bought volume 1 of Futurama and good god is it incredible. It has the first thirteen episodes (some of the funniest, and not primitive, like The Simpsons in it's early stages) on 3 discs with the script for each episode, deleted scenes when applicable, and storyboard and concept art, not to mention the commentary (which is bnoth hilarious and extremely interesting). I reccomend this thing to anyone who enjoys laughing at TV. I can't wait for the second volume to come out.

Believe it or not, I've missed every episode of Futurama (I've been wanting to watch it for SOOOOOO long!) for like the past three years, and last night, I finally caught it on Cartoon Network (summer rocks) for the first time.  I used to watch The Simpsons religiously, and I had no idea Groening created Futurama - I actually knew nothing about it; just what the characters looked like (not even their names) and that it was tremendously funny.  But when I saw Groening's name, I knew we had a quality cartoon going for us here.  I now plan on watching the Adult Swim run religiously, 'cause the attack of the overly-large brains was just too funny (actually, it wasn't so much so, but apparently a lot more funny, judging by some of these quotes).  Anyhow, The Simpsons is still my favorite show of all time, and always will be, but just after one episode, Futurama's up there with it.

1) The Simpsons
2) Futurama
3) Invader Zim
4) The Brak Show
5) Homestar Runner (it counts AFAIC)

Those are the all-time best cartoons of EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVERNESS.  I end this post by saying...er...can't think of a quote, but...uh...Mr. Von Riktor wet his pants till he was twelve!  No, that...er...

The Simpsons best seasons are still the best cartoons ever.  The dropoff from about '98 to the present has been steady, however.

Quote

You know, that's exactly what a Simpsons friend of mine told, and I'll say to you what I said to him: they're *not* running out of ideas- that's almost impossible on a comedy show (look at SNL- it's been running for 27 years and still has new ideas)- the problem is they're not thinking of new ones. The writers are struggling because they can't grasp the new ideas that ARE out there. There's no limit on the number of ideas, just on the writers' abilities to think of them.

Ah, but they are running out of realistic ideas/situations to put The Simpsons family in.  And when the show gets outlandish plots, like the last 5-6 years, it dampens the effect the show has.  Part of the shows appeal was that it was a cartoon take on real family life.   Of course they were exaggerated plots early, but never so much as to say,' God this is ridiculous'.  Which happens to almost every sitcom after about 5 seasons.
SNL is a bad analogy.  Theres several skits per episode, and if something doesn't work, they move on to the next.  How long is the longest skit?  5 minutes, tops?  When your working with small snippetts of comedy, its much easier than a half hour show.  They really don't have to worry about tying everything together everyweek either.  How long would one of those skits be on TV if they had to make a half hour episode every week?  None of them would hold up very long, if at all.  They can last years on SNL because you only see 3 minutes at a time.

Thats because Futurama is done digitally, whereas The Simpsons wasn't until a couple of seasons ago.

But yes, Futurama is my second favorite cartoon.
