yes i would have to agree that this is VERY annoying. But I suppose I cant be too angry because the game will be better off that way. Its like your running a 10 mile race. Youre only 10 seconds away from the finish line and BAM! they tell you to keep going cuz they pulled the finish line another 5 miles.

A delay always makes games better except the rare case of TP :P, I'm actually a little happy, the more content the better.

Finally I login! Anyways, don't really care for the delay. This is Nintendo we are talking about and of course delay is part of their association. Even though I am disappointed on the delay, but it is coming for a good cause! Hell, if a game goes gold and continues to polish then by all means, go for it! Metal Gear Solid 4 is going for the approach so I say continue! All I have to wait is a bit over a week for getting the Japanese version and I am so glad that I got myself a Japanese Wii!

I just can't see how a one-week delay in Japan when the game is already being printed translates to a one-month delay in North America.

Maybe they delayed the Japanese version to make others feel better about their own delays?  It doesn't make sense, since every thing we've seen in the dojo is in English, I don't see how the game isn't being translated simultaneously.  I honestly want a real explanation from Nintendo PR from this, not just "The game is taking longer than we expected, even though a week ago we said we were done."  Are they adding US only content, like the song about Ashley?  Did they decide at the last minute to put all the stuff taken out of the Japanese game back in, like the Japanese version of the song about Ashley?

If they need more time for that, or if they need more time to translate things, or to actually work on the game, that's fine.  I don't care, the games will be done when it's done.  However, I also believe it was delayed because someone at NOA said, "Mario Kart isn't going to be ready by May, we're waiting until November for Wii Fit, so let's space out our games better.  Besides, we'll have more Wiis out there by then, anyways."  And with about ten million Wiis around NA right now, that's just unnecessary, I think.

And Europe is getting it when? No, it's not late March whoever suggested that, we haven't even got a f***ing date to get pushed back. If Super Paper Mario is anything to go by, we won't be seeing it until September. I suspect it will be around May, April if we're lucky. And you guys are complaining about March?!

I'm just wondering why someone from Europe would have a Mr. Saturn avatar.  You haven't been illegally pirating games, have you?
j/k, It's a good game and I can't fault you for that, honestly.

However, I'm thinking about trying to get a genuine answer here, but the only thing I can thing of is to do a mass email or mass phone call to Nintendo.

Well it looks like it's time to buy a Japanese Wii.  Unless we're getting exclusive content then this is total BS.  Oh and if NOA dare removes content like those Japanese Pikmin songs then this is the ultimate finger they could give their fans.  If the North American version of the game has LESS content then the Japanese version then we should be getting the damn thing first.  There's no excuse, not one damn excuse we should have to wait an extra month for an inferior version of the game if Japan is getting the superior version in 2 weeks.

So the English version better have more content or at least the same amount of content as the Japanese version.  Because if there's even one thing removed, even if it's just a sticker of some obscure Japanese only character nobody even nows about, that's still unexceptable, PERIOD

Some of you guys are wimps! The game will be here, don't worry so much. 1 week after its released we will have no knowledge of this delay. All of you will be playing this game for years to come, I imagine almost a decade. This extra 3 weeks or so for us US guys wont even put a dent in that play time.

The easiest explanation is Nintendo needed a week more of production capacity to fill the disc orders in Japan and since production for NOE and NOA will probably come from the same plants but start later due to the later date a Delay was needed to fill those orders as well.  Plus the fine tuning of the translation and giving a little room for a last minute bugs fix from the bugs found through the Japanese playing community.

You know, if that's it, that's fine, except for one thing:  We were told development issues.  If they want to delay the game to have more time to print it, they should say "We need more time to print the game."  Oh, and the Japanese version is not a testing tool for the North American version.

Sometimes it is. I remember a bug in the Japanese Pokemon D/P came about and it was removed from all other versions.

"I'm going to laugh my butt off if the fanboys that are angsty right now snatch up a copy the minute is released."

Why wouldn't they?  I mean the whole reason to be upset is because we have to wait longer.  So I would assume everyone would get this game on day one just like they would have even if it wasn't delayed because when you really want a game it's logical to get it the second it's available.

I don't get how this is a good marketing campaign.  Anyone who actually would know that game is being delayed would be a hardcore fan who would buy it on day one ANYWAY.  N64 games weren't million sellers because of delays.  It was because the userbase was so f*cking starved for games that if anything decent came out they grabbed it because nothing else would show up for months.

The fact that there is any comparison between the Wii and N64 is a bad sign.  The N64 initially was the market leader thanks to Super Mario 64 being such a major killer app and Nintendo still being established as the market leader at launch because of the SNES.  While the Wii obviously isn't riding its predecessor's coattails it, like the N64, has a major killer app that everyone has gone ga-ga over.  But the game lineup is weak and sparse except for some big first party titles like the N64's.  Now the Wii has non-gamers and it has sold better than any console I've ever seen.  Shortages still a year after launch?  That's nuts.  But one thing that limited the N64's third party support was the cartridges.  Well hardware is a limitation for the Wii, too.  There's a reason that despite the Wii being the market leader so many third party games are made for the X360 and PS3 but NOT the Wii.  It's because the hardware is too different to make a proper port.  That's why we get so many PS2 ports because the Wii has more in common with last gen hardware.

Eventually this all caught up with the N64.  The weak library turned people away even if it was technically the market leader for a little while.  Is this going to happen to the Wii?  Is the X360 the Playstation ready to gobble up all the deserters by merely being competent while the PS3 is the Saturn, the failing console made by the established powerhouse that still gets third party support, despite not selling worth a crap, merely because it has similar hardware to the console third parties favour?

While I don't expect Nintendo to ever stop delaying games why is this sort of thing still newsworthy on a market leading console?  We're supposed to have this big insane amount of third party games, both awesome and sh!tty, to eat up our time.  We're supposed to have so many games that someone of any taste can always find something to spend time playing.  We're supposed to have to pick and choose which MAJOR titles to skip because we can't afford to play them all.  Yet here we are upset about one game being delayed for only a month.  Did that EVER happen to PS2 fans?  Why should I be happy for Nintendo if the Wii's success has still just resulted in the same routine that I got fed up with YEARS ago?

It was never confirmed to be a launch game. Iwata said he was pushing for i to be ready for launch (of coarse we would later find out that they hadn't even started on the game at that point), but a lot of people thought this meant it would be a launch title.

Also, what the hell happened to mine and several others posts? I posted a reply last night, but now it's gone (along with others replies).
