Topic: Leon Kennedy in Brawl?!?

New bit of info/rumor came out today from wiisworld.com:

Leon Kennedy in Brawl
Consider this speculation for the time being, but it seems that Leon Kennedy (you might know him from such games as Resident Evil 4) will be featuring in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Paul Mercier is the actor who voices Leon. On his IMDb page, Brawl is listed as his latest work:

If this is to be relied on, there's still a chance he could just be an Assist Trophy. Either way it's exciting news. Welcome, stranger!

I would be very happy to see Leon in Smash. I would have rather seen Jill but Leon isn't bad too.
This would take care of Capcom's spot in Smash.

However, IMDB isn't a great source here, since anyone could have posted that there and if that's the only source we have to go on then... yeah

I will be very pumped if this news turns out to be true, and I hope they do something like how Jill worked in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with enemy "assisted" moves... but don't want to get excited about it given the source.

I agree. Leon is a boring generic character.

Anyway after further investigating I would still take this with a grain of salt. Come to find out Kazuya Mishima is on the list too.
Now Kazuya Mishima could be in Smash Bros, Namco doesn't have a character and there was a Tekken game on the GBA.
Since Snake showed us that it takes very little to be in Smash Bros we can't count Kazuya Mishima 100% out.

But it could be a type-o, the guy who does his voice, Toshiyuki Morikawa also did the voice for Heishiro Mitsurugi (Soul Calibur), Dante (Devil May Cry), Ryu (Street Fighter) and Sephiroth (Kingdom Hearts & Final Fantasy VII)

I could see Heishiro Mitsurugi being in Smash Bros.

If Leon`s in the game (which I doubt, I still see Megaman being the main character), the merchant SHOULD be an assist!
When he appears, he says "got something that might interest ya!" and opens his coat. When that happens all sorts of weapon items appear (like the gooey bomb, the SNES zapper, the Starfox bomb, Bob-omb etc.).

When he leaves, he says "Come back anytime!"

I know it would make SB happy .

FYI, for sh*ts and giggles, I submitted Megaman and his voice actor to the SSBB site on IMDB. If they add it, we'll know that this info could easily be bogus.

Paul Mercier's IMDB site itself has this info and you can't just toss new credits onto there without it being checked out first. I don't know if that means Mercier had to approve the addition or not, but I believe it had to go through some form of check or balance.

The reality of the situation is that if they make a merchant AT the most logical thing he'd be doing is giving items to the other characters since THAT'S his main role in the RE universe.

Having the merchant do something else would be preposterous!

I personally want Zack and Wiki.

I've only beaten two levels with them but I am already in love with the characters. They would make an awesome duo character.

If snake couldn't have a gun then how will Leon ever make it in? Leon seem to realistic to fit in the game (snake just barely make it), but I doubt capcom would have a 3rd party AT without having (a) 3rd party character(s). Just let it be Zero!

This would be AMAZING! Remember, RE2 was on Nintendo systems too featuring Leon (N64 and Cube), so it's possible. I'd beat the hell out of snake with him all day long.
