Topic: Japanese Brawl ads!

With the game being released in around 2 weeks in Japan Nintendo has finally started airing commercials for it.

Nothing new is shown, but they do have some great new footage.

Nice, can't wait to see the next batch.  Mario Galaxy had quite a few adds in Japan so it's likely Smash Bros will as well.  Plus it makes sense since the first ad highlights Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby by name.  My guess is that later adds will do the same for the rest of the starting lineup.

Oh and watching those ads just reminds me how much I love the Main Theme of the game.

Someone was dead on, as the next advert has the Pokémon Trainer, Yoshi, Ike and King Dedede.

Also, sounds like the Pokémon Trainer is voiced by Rica Matsumoto in the Japanese version, who does the voice of Satoshi (Ash) on the show.

Well for a game like Brawl, I figured Nintendo would really get the hype machine for this game.  But I didn't expect the third ad to appear this soon.  I guess the 4th add should be coming soon as well.

And on the issue of Pokemon Trainer, that does indeed sound like Rica Matsumoto.  I'd imagine how popular the anime has been in Japan for the last decade, she was the ONLY choice to do Pokemon Trainer.  If Sakurai picked someone who was Matsumoto to do Pokemon Trainers voice, I'd imagine the Japanese fans would have flooded his computer with hate mail the next day.

Good God, this is crazy.  Well I'm finally going to bed now but if I wake up and see that's there's a 5th ad I'm going to jump out the window.  I'm not used to being right like this all the time, it's scary.

About Pokemon Trainer's US voice, I would rather them use the guy from Pokemon Chronicles than Ash. Ash's new voice is kind of lame.

The US ads are probably going to be lame. I suspect a "Wii would like to play" style which is really the exact opposite direction Nintendo should go for this game in particular. Sonic and Snake (and any other 3rd party character(s) they have planned) should also be shown (edit)...... even if they're unlockable characters. Sure, it spoils the surprise, but it's sure to drum up even more buzz for the game.

On a related note, the US ad for the original Smash Bros. was probably Nintendo's best commercial ever.
