I thought I'd post that customers are getting triple billed for service and the game doesn't work before anybody thinks of getting it

First they cut the beta short and then they find other ways to shaft the customer.

Its nice to see that MMOs are still absurd.

The latest GFW podcast did a good job pointing out its flaws.

A game other than WoW? I find that hard to believe.

But ok, your thread, your rules. I'll just be over *there* not caring.

Fun fact: you can still play Hellgate London without a subscription, but it's still completely terrible

This is an MMO? What the? I never knew that!

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

It is a shame. I had been hoping this game would live up to the potential it had.

Is it actually terrible, or is it doomed to mediocrity?

It's almost too funny to be true

Broken loot tables confirmed, drops go to s--- once you get past the character levels tested in beta. (15-20)

When you do get drops, you get broken items like this (this is not what it's supposed to be):

[screenshot with some numbers and s--- on it, I dunno]

Subscribers are being triple billed on their credit cards.

If you post about being triple billed on your credit card on the hellgate forums you will be banned.

With the new Hellgate build, characters are now being corrupted and there is no way to contact customer support or a GM. You are simply not able to log in and get a network error every time.

People are trying to cancel their founder's subscriptions but can't.

On the official forums, Hellgate fanboys are now replying to every thread reporting bugs or crashes with "You are doing it wrong" or "Your PC sucks" even when it's a known issue

Dunno, I played the demo, it was a decent run and gun. though I guess I could just play Doom 3 Hack instead.

I got the full version (because of price drop) and really don't understand why people claim the game's so bad. Why? Sure, there are some annoying bugs and the environments lack variety but IMO it does compare favorably with Diablo 2. Talking about WoW killers is silly, it's an action hack & slay and appeals to a completely different demographic than WoW.

I like the weapon upgrades and customization, you can do some sick stuff with that and get weapons that excell at what you need (e.g. I have a weapon with 100% shield penetration, another one with all kinds of area damage, ...). Upgrading also means you don't have to abandon your old weapons soon, my main weapon at level 19 is one I found at level 3 or so and it still works great because of all the upgrades.

Dunno, didn't try online. I'm kicking so much ass alone that those monsters would need a huge buff to be any threat in multiplayer.

Our console-only players here could imagine HGL as a version of PSO that doesn't suck.
