Back in the early days of Radio Free Nintendo, the show had a strict PG-13 rating to adhere to. No cursing, no suggestive themes, and if we cracked during recording, it was edited out. We wanted to be seen as professionals, and as such, this had to be the way things were done.

But that's just so boring.

If you're a long-time listener, this show will either be the best you've ever heard, or the worst you've ever heard. Crass language, oh-so-suggestive subject matter, and then there's Hermione Granger... Yeesh.

Discussed within, besides all of the M-rated stuff, is the confirmation that Smash Bros. is online, the new Virtual Console releases, and a feature on a couple of gaming-related movies that we've recently seen. It's a tour de force that you simply CANNOT miss.

I saw The Wizard for the first time several months ago, and it was awesome. If anything, the 80s style is nostalgic rather than off-putting, and those scenes mentioned with the Power Glove and SMB3 are really hilarious. If you haven't seen this movie, you really owe it to yourself to experience The Wizard in all its classic glory.

BTW, Emma Watson > Jenny Lewis, yeah, I said it.

My thoughts as I listen to it:

-Jonny's never said anything funny for his intro. Sorry.

-Jonny's friend is going to buy Kid Icarus and it's all Pale's fault.

-Karl and Mike's foot in their mouth? Jeez, that's a first. /vudu sarcasm. You guys do this all the time. It's not that we "fanboys" don't like it when you "tell it like it is". It's that we don't like it when you state opinions and predictions as unfathomable truths and facts. I realize this is a podcast and you're supposed to talk about what you think, but you can come off as arrogant and condescending. Also, while I'm thinking about it, you're not allowed to do another episode without either Jonny or Windy. Those two are the voices of reason at NWR.

-I'm older than everyone on the podcast? Christ.

-I can't believe Karl tried to resurrect Pirate Radio. You can't have Pirate Radio with Stan. RIP.

-This episode was neither the best nor the worst out of the bunch.

I liked this episode alot, although there was some good news to work with and a great feature. But I think think you should at least tag that one explicit on I-tunes

I agree that Jonny and Windy are the voices of reason. It seems much more like a discussion when they're involved; when they're not, it sounds more like a rant.

vudu, if you'll notice, while Mike and I both doubted that Smash Bros. would have four player online (though I distinctly remember predicting that it would have 2 player online), we were still hopeful about being wrong. As was Windy. You know, the guy who's apparently the only one who knows what he's talking about? He and Jonny are great additions to the show, but seriously, if they're the only ones you're interested in hearing, then maybe you should stop listening to episodes that they're not featured in.

Mike and I comment and make predictions to the best of our ability, and when we're in the wrong, we're the first ones to say so, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop saying what's on our minds. If that doesn't appeal to you, then maybe RFN isn't right for you.

Its good to know that RFN can be raw sometimes. Its good to let it out directly, instead of just dancing around the innuendo.

Even though Jonny suggested a film that some people might find racist, offensive, and downright nasty, I believe he has no pedophilia tendencies. M.C Kids FTW He's no R.Kelly

After playing SOR 3 some more, its not as bad. SOR 2 was a high point in beat-em-ups, anything after that would be a tough act to follow. I would describe SOR 3 as two steps forward, one step back.

I'm surprised there was no post-TGS wrap-up. It would have been a chance for Mr.Sklens to toot his own horn about Kingdom Hearts.

It is frustrating when the music is much louder than the voices. It's like watching a TV show where you have to turn the volume down every time a commercial comes on.

Regarding "King of Kong", just remember some things that were left out of the movie:

- Steve Wiebe was not the first person to break the record. Tim Sczerby was, and Billy Mitchell didn't care that time. Mr. Weibe's claim only became notable because of the controversial Double Donkey Kong board.

- The movie claims they never played together, but they played together at the 2004 Classic Gaming Expo.

- Mr. Mitchell broke the record at a public charity event in July, but somehow that fact slipped through the hype for the movie. He didn't just break the record; he broke it with one extra life left and five screens left, but he decided not to play any farther (decide for yourself whether that makes him an ass or not... I thought it was pretty funny because it keeps the competition alive). Since it was live, and since he took a lot of trouble to make sure the DK board was legit (verified by NoA, and guarded by security) there is no controversy about doctored recordings.

I loved the movie as entertainment, but it's so blatantly biased toward a particular point of view I hesitate calling it a documentary (although I still do).

This is the first episode i've listened to and honestly....

i still dont get podcasts. I havent heard one yet that was genuinely entertaining. There were momemts where i laughed a bit but other than that it felt like a chore to listen to, especially when i had to raise the volume up to hear things properly and hope no one instant messged me, making me deaf.

i know some of you are thinking "well maybe podcasts just arent for you" but i used to listen to some radio talk shows all the time (their all either moved or cancelled now; sad

) so i know i can get into people just sitting around talking. So far i havent heard a single one thats entertained. I was hoping Radio Free Nintendo would be the one since i love the community here but alas, its not. I'll just continue not listening, no big deal
