Carnival Games Official Topic
« on: August 29, 2007, 08:39:15 PM »
I feel so bad for this game, I want to make a topic for it. In the midst of all the Metroid Prime 3 hype, this game appears to be getting lost in the shuffle. From what I've gathered is that the game is a lot of fun, especially with multiple people. I'll probably be one of the few, but I'm going to pick up this game ASAP.

Too bad this game has the worst character design in the history of character design...It's like they are a mix between Chucky, Kewpie dolls, and bobble-heads... =|

it looks like it could be fun, yet, it seems like its way to slow.

On Tuesday when I went to pick up MP3C ther was this lady (a Mom I presume by the age and looks, and she called her son/daughter for on what to get or something) in the store picking up some stuff for the Wii and she asked if the Carnival game was coming out the next day, the non-gamers will gobble this one in no time.

Agreed.

I was hoping my Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire preorder would keep me in good standing for the next month or so, but this... only a Ninja Bread Man purchase has a chance of topping this.

Fixed.

From what I've read about it, this game is essentially a third-party Wii Play set at a Carnival. You can't really go wrong there, because Wii Play is a fairly good game.

My main gripe with Carnival Games is the price. For what it is, $39.99 seems too much. If it were $19.99 that would be great. Wii Play wasn't worth $49.99, but at least with that you got a bonus controller. If Carnival Games had some bonus accessory with it that would probably justify its price, but as it is I think it is too much.
is your sanity...

Dear GOD what's happening to people? First Wii Play... now THIS?!?!?!

Look... Chris Kohler doesn't seem too gung-ho about the game ... Even Kid Confidence at youtube called it "another one of those minigame titles that is just ... over priced." ... am I missing something?

Or is this the part where I blame Wii Fit?

Go back and play Alien Syndrome, people don't want you to play good games. (Odd that you quote reviews for this game yet ignore them for AS!)

I didn't ignore them for AS, I pointed out that their specific complaints had little or no relevance to gameplay.

However, I look forward to the NWR review! And... yours GP!

You are still a HYPOCRITE, a cat bus hypocrite! At least the game is more budget centered than AS. Still haven't been able to find it sadly, I get the feeling it is in limited supply.

Yeah, it sounds like traditional stores have severely under-ordered this game because they look unkindly upon non-gamer titles. Have you tried non-specialty retailers or online retailers perhaps?

Have you tried Toys R Us in your area? They had many copies while the other stores had none.

Well today I checked Fred Meyer, Gamestop, and Best Buy with no luck (though I did get Worms 2).

Just got my copy and darn it GP, you're right. After playing Ring Toss, Throw-the-ball-at-the-clown's-face, and having the authentic joy of trading in a ton of tiny pitiful prizes for one big kitchsy one... this is darned authentic, and oddly appealing!
