Alright, so Brawl is going to have Bosses, nothing really too new about that.  Melee had two Bosses, it just means we are getting more.

So who do you want to see as Bosses in the games.  How do you want them to play?  Special rules to beating them?  Weaknesses? Special KOs?

This is the thread to post your desires, and how you would create the best Brawl Boss Encounter.

Example:

Crocomire

I would love a Boss like this whom must be defeated by pushing off the stage or into lava or something.  Instead of one Weak Spot, having his armored Skin break off revealing a soft spot would help characters with no range best this opponent.  Though the armored Skin will grow back, so you must be careful how you defeat this guy.

I knew I should have done this earlier when I thought of it instead of waiting.
The first thing that comes to my mind is that the hoped-for by many to be playable Ridley is now almost certainly a boss.

The next thing I think of is how this leaves Bowser. Bowser has been confirmed playable already, so does this mean he is on the side of good? And if so, does he start on the side of good or is he a boss that is converted to good after being defeated?

Then, where does that leave Meta Knight and Ganondorf? Meta Knight was shown as a newcomer in the first trailer, but some of the screenshots of The Subspace Emissary include what looks like Meta Knight's ship. And Ganondorf was confirmed for the game because it was revealed that a graphic model had been made for him, but that could also be for him as a boss.

The existence of Pokemon Trainer as a character led me to believe that the Pokemon besides Pikachu and Jigglypuff had been axed, but now I'm thinking Mewtwo makes the perfect boss from the Pokemon universe.

Well, I hate to hope this, but is it possible that there will be variations of bosses that are playable?

It wouldn't make sense for Mewtwo or Ganondorf to go from playable characters to bosses, right?

And after all, we saw last time, one of the game's three ultimate bosses wound up having another form as a playable character, too.

So isn't possible that bosses may be oversized versions of unlockable characters with a few extra features?  I know they show Petey holding cages, and the fight with him is actually Kirby beating up one of two cages and not Petey, so there'll have to be another Petey fight later on since you don't beat him then and there, right?  It's conceivable that some bosses will have altered, unlockable forms, isn't it?

I don't want to sound like an idiot just trying to make things simple, but anybody think it could just be the good guys versus the bad guys...all these bad guys in the nintendo universe just team up w/ these subspace strangers?  I've been debating it for a while in my head, thinking they should include all the rivals/bad guys for each hero characters game...but didn't really have any proof, but now that Petey is in there it just seems like a distinct possibility...especially if that is Metakinights ship being used...

I believe that in adventure mode that the Nintendo villians will most likely be bosses.  In some form or another.

I could actually see Bowser and Gannondorf being the final bosses depending on who you save at the beginning of the game.  However, Bowser will not be Bowser but Giga Bowser, and Gannondorf half way through the battle will turn into Ganon and be on par with Giga Bowser.

I think the evidence of the Nintendo villians being bosses is evidence in the trailer showing Metaknight's ship with the new baddies.

What this brings up to me is the question what does it mean for Story mode and playing as the villians?  Well I think the Adventure mode will have character specific levels and will tell a story.  Perhaps some villians can be redeemed and you will play as them...perhaps not.

But, what this character specific adventure mode does hint at is the inclusion of Classic Mode still in the game.  Adventure mode is going to be several levels long and should include a great story, but what about the desire for a person to just romp through a single player experience quickly...that is where Classic Mode will come in.

What may be very cool about this classic mode is that IF there is a boss for each character franchise, then classic mode could have a unique boss battle for each character at the end.  It would be very cool.

It makes sense, because to make him playable they'd either have to remove his flying abilities (which would change the nature of the character) or leave them in (which would unbalance the game...it's another character's Final Smash, for goodness' sakes).

Isn't there a precedent for this somewhere? Super Mario RPG or something?

By the way, Spak-Spang, who's the third character in your avatar? I recognize the other three...

Or limit them? Technically, Kirby, Mewtwo and Pit can fly/hover... but doesn't mean they can always perform that in Melee/Brawl.

I do fully agree with people, though, that Ridley seems very likely to be a boss character in the game.

I did not make the avatar (Sir_Stabbalot did), so I do not know his name.

But he is the latest in the Belmont clan, since it is supposed to be a Castlevania character.

The avatar will be up during the duration of the new Mafia game, which everyone should sign up for...if they haven't already.

And since Sir_Stabbalot did such a good job I may keep this until Brawl comes out...or until one of those characters is confirmed/denied.

The third fellow is Simon Belmont. I should have used the actual sprite instead, but oh well. I'm glad you like it so much.

Anyway, I do think the final boss will depend on who you free. Though, I am kinda hoping it more depends on who you choose to play as.

Bosses won't be playable in Brawl.  Next year Nintendo will release an updated called Super Smash Bros Brawl Turbo and includes playable bosses.

I think Nintendo just needs to make fun of Capcom and release Brawl under the Title:

Metaknight has already been shown to be a playable character in Adventure Mode, so I think it's fairly likely his ship was jacked...

I think it's likely that the enemies in adventure mode will be some playable characters and some boss-only characters. I wouldn't even be surprised to see some "good guys" as enemies, "possessed" by the Subspace people or whatnot.

You folks make it seem that the story has to line up with playable characters, as if that was the case at all before... I'm pretty sure I still faced off against Bowser as Bowser in SSBM at the end of adventure mode

My question is: do you get to choose at all? Kirby seems to be the first person you play as, as the cinema ties directly into him. Perhaps after the first match you get to choose... or it opens up more options, like the second match you can be Kirby or Zelda/Peach (whichever you save)?

Also, do we know Metaknight is getting his ship "hijacked"? Is it out of the question that he might change sides midway through the game?

Well, Metaknight is a Kirby villain. Him siding with Kirby in the past shouldn't make him a permanent good guy.

That's if the Ninty villains are working with the new enemies, which I have a feeling they are not...If anything, the baddies would probably be MORE pissed than the good guys at the intruders for trespassing on their turf...

No, I think Petey is, in this iteration, a really vicious piranha plant.  I think he's a cruel, bloodthirsty tool of the Space Emissary.  After all, ROB detonates the bombs, anyways.  Just let there be one game where Petey is not a mute doofus, and turn him into a proper villain.  That's all I want.

Another theory I had is that the new aliens can shape change, and therefore you could fight all the Nintendo villains, but they can be stronger and such...because you are actually just fighting the aliens.  And that would allow you to still play the villains in adventure mode.
