I predict an Item update, probably a PokeBall Pokemon

Here is in hoping that me changing my guess will make Pokemon Stadium appear, because I know it is out there waiting to strike when least expected.

Nuts! I forgot to start the betting game yesterday. Alright. If anyone is interested, post in the thread or pm me and I'll make a list for the prediction contest. We'll see who knows their Sakurai best. We'll start the game with the update for the 22nd of August.

How it works. You get two points for a general guess. I.e. what section will be updated. Those general sections are:

Character Profile
Character Move/Action
How to Play
Game Modes
Stages
Items
Music
Notices

After that, there is the specific guess. Elaborate further on what is going to be updated in that section. Specific guesses would be for:

Character Profile - Name of character

Character Move/Action - Name of character and what moveset - Final smash, special moves, regular moves.

How To Play - What technique, rule or lesson would be given

Game Modes - Single Player, Arcade, Classic, Sticker, Trophy, Multiplayer, etc.

Stages - What franchise it comes from or character and the game. Mario Kart would be a Mario stage from Mario Kart. Pokemon stadium would be a Pokemon stage or Pikachu stage from Pokemon Red/Blue.

Items - What type of item - normal, assist trophy or pokeball and the item or character it would be. I.E. Normal item - Ray Gun. Assist Trophy - Toad. Pokeball - Psyduck.

Music - The franchise that will be represented by the music. I.E. Animal Crossing Music. Star Fox music.

Notices - What the notice will be. Announcement. Video. Audio. I'm just throwing it in for the heck of it.

Of course, extra bonus points of 6 could be awarded to people who are even more daring in their prediction. I.E., correctly guessing which composer was responsible for arranging the music, predicting a feature of a stage like Bridge of Eldin collapsing, Nintendogs assist trophy blocks screen, etc.

In some case, half points may be given. I.E. chose the right franchise or character for stage but not the game it came from, choose pokeball but not the right pokemon, choose the right character but not the right move update.

Anyways, you can look that over and tell me what you think so we can hammer out the rules for tomorrow and go from there. In the meantime, I say it's time we had an update for:

Items.

I will go with Normal Items and the Party Balls. Look! Food is back.

Well, I don't know if I'm up for playing the game. I really just like predicting things I'd like to see, not what I think would show up.

However, if I were playing, the update would have a Shoe item or a stage with Kuribo's shoe. Does that fit?

Almost. You can only choose one thing to be updated however. In the case of the latter, you would most likely want to go:

Stage - A Mario stage from SMB3. Features Kuribo's shoe.

Then you are locked in.

Not sure what you're saying. So, you want to guess that it is a shoe update and say that is a specific guess but then if there is a shoe update, you want to say that you got the general guess with it?

So, if I predicted that tomorrow's update would have Goldeen and it showed the Goldeen Trophy, you want to say I get the general and specific points when my guess was general? It could have shown Goldeen in a stage (ala Poke Floats) or as an item. Heck even as a character. I would say no. The goldeen guess would count as a general guess in that case.

Do you get what I'm saying? If not, we can talk further or someone else can take over the rules until I'm back. I need sleep now and the game isn't officially starting yet anyways.

I think I see what you're saying, and what I'm saying is that I want to guess two very specific things each day, and have them both be worth insignificant points or something. Like, instead of choosing Goldeen, I would say Goldeen as a level feature, or Goldeen as a Pokeball Pokemon. If it wasn't either of those, I'd lose, even if Goldeen were featured somehow else. If it were either, I'd get whatever the lesser credit is.
In a similar case, I might guess that there will be a stage with a cake as the center feature as one guess, or a Pokeball unveil of Snorunt. Neither are in the same category, and neither are the general guesses, either. In a sense, it would be like I'm trading a general guess for a specific guess, I suppose.

thatguy: It is a good idea, but then you are either going to have to ask everyone to keep track of their points themselves, and PM me to adjust it on the main post, or I am going to have to calculate them all myself, and I don't have that kind of time. This way it is a simple hey I want to predict and see what everyone else thinks the update will be without the commitment of a game structure.

If you win you get your name on the front page and a date...if you don't oh well. Too bad with have had two no wins in the same week.
