Or not.  Collecting useless items for the sake of a complete collection is just a chore to me.

I agree. The stickers are going to have less appeal than Melee's trophies.

So . . . them adding little things that may be fun for some =  bad?

Oh and thank you for pointing out what game it was from. It did look like he was holding a baseball but it was so squished I wasn't sure that's what it was (And the boxing glove threw me off).

It ain't bad, but considering we have a bigger single player mode along with a huge multiplayer mode who's going to dedicate their time on the stickers?

Cute feature but the other modes are calling.

Yeah but as the update says, you get them by just playing so I don't see how it really cuts into playing time in terms of getting the stickers. It's something that may be fun to mess around with once all the major modes are out of the way.

It's not bad... it's just nothing really to get excited about. For many of us, I don't think it's a feature we will really use, although I suppose there is a small niche out there that will really enjoy it.

This is ridiculous. I can remember countless bouts of Smash Bros. that my brother and I played, watching our coin reward after each and every match, just for the hope of spending those coins on trophies. Stickers are another level of that sort of reward system. AND one of my favorite moments in arcade mode was the "hit the trophy into the cone" minidame. It always got my heart racing a little bit faster. This reward system will increase the appeal of playing smash bros. again and again. I'm loving it.

I had a friend who referred to Katamari Damacy as gamer crack. That's what Smash Bros. is looking like to me.

...Geez, stop whining you puffy, status quo, hardcore-minded gamers. Don't like it? Fine. But don't belittle a feature just because you want to get to pwning newbs as fast as possible.

Collecting that has nothing to really do with game play is just fun.  You can chose to ignore the collecting all together, or you can collect everything to your hearts content.  What I like about Stickers is that you can actually do something with your collection of stickers.  trophies just sat there and you read a description of the character or game.

If you can send your Sticker Art to your friends this could be alot of fun, sending "Sticker comics" and people creating an ongoing story so to speak in art.

Stickers will be a worthy update to the game as long as they also include lots of old forgotten classic ones as well. And if not...well you could really just flip through NWR's game artwork for every game and get the same stuff. Sadly though, it does look like they will be replacing trophies. The assist trophies already justify that.

Did anyone else do a double take when you saw the GCN buttons on the screen? Hah.

Also, why would these replace trophies if...

A.  There is an item in game called an "Assist Trophy" which means the concept is being carried through.

B.  The characters in story mode still start out as trophies, which further means the concept is being carried through.

C.  "Stickers are easier to get a hold of than trophies. Just play the game and you’ll start to earn them as rewards."  How would they be easier to get a hold of than something that isn't even in the game?  Stop freaking out everyone.

You see theres the rub.  I'm all for stickers as long as I get information to go with them like trophies.  I enjoyed the Info more than the trophies myself so, I could care less if they are 3D or not.

You know I'm really surprised no one, Uncle Bob, mentioned the possibility of creating a custom sticker sheet and sending it off to Nintendo and have them mail you the sticker set for a certain amount of WiiPoints of course.  That would make me very excited about these is if I can get real stickers from them.

Stickers are for k1ddy n00bs. Of course, stickers plus gouts of crimson blood gushing everywhere...that's a bit more indeterminate.

With all of the extras being added, the core gameplay had better already be polished and balanced to the nth degree.

I'll put that box of fire ants in the mail right away if Brawl is poorly balanced because Sakurai had the dev team working on the sticker interface instead of beta testing.

Yes, Sakurai has had the entire team working on stickers for the last 12 months.  This game has actually changed from focusing on fighting to focusing on collecting stickers making comics out of them.  Smash Bros has become a non-game.

Lighten up.  As Pap said, it takes all of 1 minute to change a jpg into a sticker most likely.  I wouldn't be suprised if this was an extra feature added after the game was done and Sakurai had extra time after finishing and decided to add some extra features just for the fun of it.
