In keeping with the tradition they started with Table Tennis and that Sony started with the PSP, the next Rockstar Franchise is going to be an office productivity suite, bundled with word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. It'll come with a free wireless keyboard! The PS3's killer app, for sure.

So if it's something new that's not GTA, or even Manhunt or Smuggler's Run, I don't think anybody cares that much. Unless it turns out to be awesome out of nowhere, like Manhunt or Smuggler's Run, I guess? Who's to say it's even going to be a high profile game?

And how much is Sony spending for this?

well first off I bet its only going to be timed exclusive. Maybe 6 months or at most a year. Kind of like what happen with GTA3.

Second, I hope to GOD that its not Oni (Take2 owns it I know, but they could be stupid and give it to RockStar to develop), I love that game and the last thing I want is for it to be PS3 exclusive or developed by Rockstar.

Third, I bet the game will suck =P
Rockstar is never going to be able to create another GTA. They have created a bunch of new series since GTA and none of them have even remotely come close to the same success.

Manhunt, Bully, Midnight Club, Max Payne, Smuggler's Run, The Warriors, Red Dead Revolver, Table Tennis... oh yes all such Greeeeat games. *rolleyes*

I think this game has the potential to be top quality. It's really a coup for Rockstar, actually. They probably have some ideas on how to use all that next-gen power, and now Sony's basically written them a blank check to go crazy in terms of content. I mean, think about it... Sony's just commited to having this game come out. Now Rockstar can take all the risks and edgy content they want, and Sony really can't afford to back out on them!

Bully is a great game, don't know what your talking about cap! In regards to the game Rockstar is making, we'll see, but I think Rockstar's creativity juices are not as high as people give them credit for.

Also Rockstar didn't make Max Payne, it was made by Remedy. Rockstar acted as a publisher for the sequel but since they only published one of the two games I really doubt they hold any rights to the series.

If Rockstar was really making a game that'd sell big they would probably ask for a LOT of money from Sony to make up for the money they don't get from selling it on the 360 or Wii. I don't think it's anything major.
