The new food topic.
« on: July 25, 2007, 02:48:59 PM »
Well, today I had lunch and dinner.  But I'm sort of hungry.  I think I want a milkshake, but I don't know.

So I'm trying to figure out if I should get a milkshake or just have some water.  It's actually a tough decision.  I might end up playing tennis tonight, too, so I don't want to make the dairy churn into cheese or butter or whatever it does when you run around.  The end point is that it makes you throw up.

I pose to you:  Where is the best place for milkshakes, and what kind of milkshake do you go with?

I personally like Steak 'n' Shake's milkshakes, but Burger King's will do in a pinch.  Homemade milkshakes are also pretty good, but it depends on the brand of ice cream used, too.

This post has the decorum and rationalization of a twelve year old mind. Grownups go to college so they can run video game businesses in a professional manner, not drink milkshakes.

But yeah, Steak 'n' Shake is pretty good for shakes. I enjoy Red Robin shakes as well.

I thought YOU were HIS...

Also, I recommend water. In the end, nothing hydrates you better. Besides, shakes today tend to be loaded with trans fats.

You know what place's are suprisingly not good for Milkshakes? Cold Stone Creamery and Maggie Moo's. They both seem to blend the shake way too thin, so it's like drinking flavored cream, no texture.

I wish there was a Chick-fil-A around here. Heck, I wish there was a Steak and Shake around here.

We just got a Sonic Drive-In last year, I believe it's the only one in the state. BTW, their creme pie shakes are interesting.

Alright, I totally played tennis and had Gatorade and water.

Then, the next night, I went and got Chik-fil-a and a milkshake.  It was alright, but nothing to talk about in the food thread.
...Or was it?

Unfortunately, my cable provider, and by this virtue, internet provider sucks and doesn't understand what moving means, so I've only been able to get online at UF for the past few days.  Food will not be talked about so much in this transitional time.

I ordered a vegetable pizza from Pizza Joe's recently and it was heavenly. A thousand times better than anything I've ever had from Papa John's and the like, and no more expensive.

Never heard of Pizza Joe's. Is it regional or yet another franchise we are deprived of here>

I had never heard of them either until one opened nearby a few weeks ago. It's regional.

I got another veggie pizza yesterday and tried to determine what makes it so good. It's the cheese. And spices. The pizza comes with two kinds of cheese, plus a cheese sauce which is vaguely similiar to the stuff domino's used to inject into the crust of their special cheese-inside-the-crust pizza, except it isn't disgusting. The rest of the pizza is decent, but nothing spectacular. The veggies - broccoli and cauliflower chopped up into such tiny pieces you can barely tell what they are - are meh. The spongy crust is pretty good. The pizza's white, so there's no tomato sauce.

I like wendy's frosties with french fries to dip into it. Steak n Shake does have some great shakes though.

I also like ham n cheese on peanut butter and jelly. But the cheese has to be on the peanut butter side. Yummy.
