Spectacular Spider-Man first teaser poster
« on: July 25, 2007, 08:19:12 AM »
Not too shabby.

Don't know if it'll be as awesome as the 90's Spider-Man cartoon but it may be good.

Man, don't use the 90s Spiderman cartoon as a standard. The 80s Spiderman and Friends was so much better. Or better yet, the 90s Batman Animated Series.

Though this Spiderman looks to capitalize on the current Batman series.

Oh Lord. I hope they model it directly after Ultimate Spider-Man. I really don't want them to just take a dump on some old comic books and call it a show like they did with "The Batman." I hate that show with a passion.

Batman the Animated series set the bar for this type of cartoon.  It even helped an art style.  The 90's Spiderman was good.  I didn't watch much of the 80's.  Though I'm going to put my 2 cents in.  I watch a lot of Saturday morning cartoons.  I'm a little wary because most cartoons that use that style are relatively happy go luck.  Not anything on par with the New Ninja Turtles and Batman the Animated Series.

Batman the Animated Series was great. It really showed Batman as a detective. Always an entertaining show, even to this day.

Yeah I mean comparing all the super hero shows of the 90's, Batman the Animated Series was by far my favorite. It goes to shows geared towards kids don't have to be dumbed down for them to be enjoyable.

Spider-Man was my second favorite because of it's long story arcs.

Superman and X-men tie for my third but doesn't hold up as well now a days (xmen that is).

Actually I think Batman the Animated Series, like Looney Tunes, was geared towards adults and toned down, unlike Looney Tunes, for kids.  Which is fine by me.  I don't need to see Batman beating someone to a palp to get the point.

Also a very good Cartoon in the same vein but not is MiB.  Much better then both the movies.

Then you've got the best hero show of all, THE TICK.  Thanks to it being a parody of comic book heroes, it was entertaining on so many levels, even for grown-ups and near-grown-ups.

Word.

But yeah, this has "The Batman" written all over it.

I actually liked The Tick. I thought it was a pretty funny cartoon. That, The Critic, and Duckman made staying up late and watching Comedy Central great as a kid, for me at least.

Duckman always said 'Howard the Duck' to me for some reason. But there were some entertaining moments.

The Critic was great though formulatic. Jon Lovitz is a funny guy. Loved him in Rat Race, along with SNL.

One more thing: Firestar = Hottie (in more than one way). Don't care what you all think, 80's Spiderman was way cooler than any other. And it had better guest stars. But then, I liked all the cartoons the Marvel studios created. Visionaries, GI Joe, Transformers, Inhumaniods, um, I'm not sure what else... Nothing like a 20 minute toy commercial.

"Knights of the Magical Light"  I enjoyed the actual commercials more then the actual show.

A fan asked the panelists if Peter Parker would use mechanical webshooter of his own invention, like in the original comics, or the organic webshooters he has in the films. Kyle then asked the crowd, "Who wants webshooters?" Almost the entire audience clapped and cheered, and Kyle said, "You win! I'm serious. It's webshooters." Weisman nodded, saying, "We're starting out with classic Peter Parker, and he's got his classic webshooters."

Ok it's on the right track . . .

Reading this from IGN actually gives me hopes for the series.

I can't wait for th direct to DVD of Super Man: DoomsDay Movie, hopefully it'll be portrayed like the comic series. Using the same animation from Superman/Justice League Unlimited only better quality animation. Hopefully it'll have mostly all the original VA's. Unlike that horrendous Braniac attacks Movie. That was seen as some deformed spin off Superman Returns. Luther acted Retarded and stereotypical. Totally unlike his counterpart from Superman the animated series and Justice League.
