Wow, that really sucks Peter Moore is a cool guy and pretty much the only thing keeping my respect for Microsoft.

EDIT: Bet he's regretting getting that Halo tattoo.

Maybe he's tired of always picking losing teams!
Moore is pretty colourful.  He has a greater tendency to speak what's on his mind than other PR people, even if it's only to deflect more important questions (i.e. his recent comments about how Sony is doing relatively worse in Japan compared to expectations than Microsoft is).
That's my opinion, not yours.

Microsoft just lost their Jedi Master!

Peter Moore's smooth, and makes you feel as if he (and by extension, Microsoft) is a very gracious competitor. Hopefully EA's win won't set MS' plans for world domination back a step or two.

It's not likely to be a coincidence.  My guess is that Peter put his two weeks notice in a while ago ('bout two weeks ago).  Microsoft probably asked him to stay until after E3 was over so his departure wasn't the focus of the show for MS.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Wasn't Peter Moore the heart and soul of the XBox? I wonder if Steve Ballmer threw chairs across the room when he heard about Moore's departure as well.

He was really smooth when he pulled out that Halo Special Edition Xbox 360, the crowd was shocked into silence.

How could you not like Moore? He was way more honest then most, making comments that might make PR people shudder (the whole Wii + 360 movement he started when the PS3 price was announced) but that in reality played well with those who heard it.

Shame, as I really can't see him being that interesting when representing EA Sports... although at least he will still likely provide some colorful commentary on the systems out there.
