Okay. So what are the GCN world wide million sellers by now? As far as I figure, they are...

Super Smash Bros. Melee - almost 2 million in US, almost 1.5 million in Japan, and not sure about Europe...
Super Mario Sunshine - 1.5 million in US, at least a million in Japan and Europe combined.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - 600,000 in US, somewhere around 700,000 to 900,000 I believe in Japan...
Luigi's Mansion - not sure of the numbers, but it's around 1.2 to 1.5 million i think worldwide.
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - over a million in the US alone, not sure about the others
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2 - should be a million worldwide
Pikmin - same here
Star Fox Adventures - definately a million worldwide by now
Resident Evil - same
Resident Evil 0?? - I believe it's a million worldwide, might be a little less though...
Metroid Prime - like almost 900,000 here I think, and Japan has like 70,000, I'm not sure if it's out in Europe...In any case it should be a million by now or very soon...
Super Monkey Ball?? - possibly..someone fill me in

Am I leaving out anything? And how long till Zelda (about 1.3 to 1.5 million) beats Melee (like close to four million)?

These are worldwide of course in US it's just SSBM, Sonic, and Mario. In Japan it's just SSBM...

Yeah but still, if you take out a calculator and multiply those numbers by $50.00, think of how much money they've earned about.

Well Nintendo DOES make the most profits out of any game company you know...For like the past 15 or more years too I believe. Sony and MS don't come close (they are like #3 and #7)...EA is #2, if anyone cares...

Okay back to the topic.

Do you have any links to back those numbers up? It looks like you just guessed at most of them.

I'm almost positive that neither Super Monkey Ball sold that well...I don't think that either broke 250,000, if that much.

Numbers? Sigh, fine...I'll try...*goes off to look..

edit: um yeah I'm definately not going to spend 5 hours backtracking through the everywhere I've been in the past month or several. I need to finish master quest...if you want numbers look them up yourself. I didn't guess, many of these are from press reports, IGN, Gamespot, or here. Those are the only places i really go to for news.

One that that is absolutely certain is the very very recent news (press release I think) is that Mario Sunshine has 1.53 million in the US. If you go back to those few IGN Cube charts, they have some (3 or 4 month old) numbers. Of course they can only go up. But a lot of info is from that. Metroid Prime sold about 800,000 in November and December as everyone knows, and it may actually be 1 million in the US now, but I said about 900,000...it at least sold 100,000 in the past 3 months.

Really, if you kept up with the numbers as they were released you'd know where I got them. Many of these numbers are scattered in news archives of several sites from the past few months, and i'm not gonna bother searching. If you want to search here are the sites I go to regularly:
gamers.com
IGNCube
Here
gamepro
gamespot
gamespy
Well happy hunting.

As for SMB, I heard it sold great, but I wasn't sure so I put question marks. Yeah it's probably not a million so scratch that.

Oh and I forgot about Mario Party 4! Anyone got the info on that? It's been number 2 in america for a long long time now, and outsold zelda in japan...It's possible that it's a million. Or close.

Another thing about Metroid. It's been #1 in america (NPD just released charts like today or yesterday for February, go look) for GCN since it came out, so I'm sure it's sold 100,000 in 2003 at least like I said. Maybe more.

Nintendo needs to have press releases when games sell a million worldwide. Everyone else seems to shout it the second it may be true.

It's $35 profit per game, not $50.

Here is a list of the number of games sold I kept updated.
By all means correct me if I'm wrong, all I did was keep track of press releases and sales charts, I don't know what to think about the latest sales chart I saw on this board that said Metroid Prime sold 2 million while I would've expected it to have sold 1 million so far, must like Animal Crossing's 1,3 instead of 0,3 million (??)

But let me know, I'm not lying about these numbers. I'm merely quoting them:

Super Smash Bros. Melee - 1,156,631 (jpn) / 1,585,663 (usa) / (3.2m worldwide)
Mario Party 4 - 1,993,635+ (usa) / 753,973+ (jpn)
Super Mario Sunshine - 672,511 (jpn) / 519,825packin &1,176,820+ (usa) / 175,000+ (pal) / (2.2m worldwide)
Metroid Prime - 2,035,031+ (usa) / 57,163+ (jpn)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - 560,000+ (usa) / 618,872+ (jpn)
Animal Crossing/Forest+ - 1,384,332+ (usa) / 549,685 (jpn)
Starfox Adventures - 973,251+ (usa) / 224,000 (jpn)
Luigi's Mansion - 841,827 (usa) 307,387 (jpn01) / (1.2m worldwide)
Pikmin - 459,432 (usa) / 347,938+ (jpn01) / (1.0m worldwide)
Wave Race: Blue Storm - 265,158+ (usa)
Doshin the Giant Remake - 200,000+ (jpn) / ? (pal)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem - 186,887 (usa)
Nintendo Puzzle Collection - 73,073+ (jpn)
Cubivore/Doubutsu Banchou - 5,800 (usa)

Eternal Darkness sold 250,000 didn't it?..
Oh I totally forgot about Animal Crossing! Of course it sold a million, no doubt about it.

Metroid 2 million? I was being very conservative when i said 900,000, but in truth it should be around 1.2 to 1.4 million in the US...2 million? I know it's been #1 GCN for a while..if that's true then that's great!

EDIT: There is ABSOLUTELY no way Mario Party 4 has outsold SSBM in the US. Absolutely no way at all. 1.9 million in the US? I think that's the worldwide number...no way that it sold 2 million in the US...

I doubt that MP has sold over a million uet.  It sold 250 000 it's first week and was competitive with Splinter Cell in Novemeber, but fell pretty far behind in December.  And ever since then I'm fairly sure GC games have done crappy in NA.  It hasn't been out in Japan too long, but only sold around 40 000 when it launched.  Of course, it's just an estimate, but it's based off of numbers I've seen from various sources.

i am not sure but i think it probably did
i think all of the titles nintendo offers as free with purchase with a gc (mario sunshine, mario party, metroid, sfa) all sold over a million
that is why nintendo offers them free
now i do not know if this is true but that is what i guess is true
also zelda is going to be a million seller very soon (over 600,000 already!)

I believe that japan numbers are from famitsu as of dec 2002. US numbers are from TRSTS as of Jan 2003. * used latest Dengeki numbers. ** Feb TRSTS numbers

World Wide Million Sellers
Super Smash Bros. Melee - Jap = 1,202,606 USA** = 1,417,859 Total = 2,620,465
Super Mario Sunshine -  Jap = 677,440 USA** = 1,559,074 Total = 2,236,514

Luigi's Mansion -  Jap = 348,918 USA = 841,827 Total = 1,190,745

Will be there soon
Animal Crossing -  Jap = 580,553 USA** = 408,653 Total = 989206

Metroid Prime - Jap* =  57,163 USA** = 827,906 Total = 885,069
Zelda: Wind Waker -  Jap* =  618,872

Could be there if I had Europe numbers
Stars Wars: Rogue Leader - USA = 688,013
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle -  Jap = 192,186 USA = 562,942 Total = 755,128
Resident Evil -  Jap = 267,470 USA = 421,738 Total = 689,208

Resident Evil 0 -  Jap = 311,870 USA** = 269012 Total = 580,882

Edit: since i use dengeki #'s for some games, might as well use the Feb TRSTS numbers for some games.

Mingesium: How did you find the latest Degenki numbers from older titles as Pikmin & Luigi which are no longer in the top100 list? Just curious

Also: Mingesium proves the numbers I found online outside of Dengenki/TRSTS/Pressreleases to be fake, so scrap 2 million MP, 1,9 million MP4, 1,3 million AC, 0,9 million SFA. So a BIG f*ck you to Gamerfeed.com

As of january means not including january, february, and march. IGN Cube said Metroid Prime sold 770,000 in 2002. I'm sure it has sold at least 200,000 this year. It's almost april for crying out loud...

luigis mansion
pikmin
smash brothers

mario sunshine
rouge leader
sonic.....whatever its called
zelda
mario party4

star fox may be there, and animal crossing would make it if it were released worldwide and is close either way. re0 has shipped 1 million worldwide, but i dont know about sales. thats just as good though. i may be forgetting something, but i think that is it. so there are about 10 gamecube games that are over 1 million.......and a couple flirting with the number....maybe more will break it this year like.....

metroid

If someone can get their hands on the MediaCreate numbers for Japan then we'd have a better idea of the actual game sales since MC gets info from more stores. For instance, as of January 19th MC had Zelda: TWW at about 725,000. It then fell out of the top 10 so I'm not sure of the numbers now but I'm sure it's safe to say that it's at at least 750,000 now.

I would guess that with Europe numbers Pikmin would have to be over 1 mil. And to the person asking about Super Monkey Ball, I remembber back in teh day before SMB2 came out Sega had a press release saying that they had shipped over 700,000 copies of SMB. So no way it's over 1 mil if they were jsut shipping the 700,000th copy then. Because once games drop in sales, they REALLY drop, you know?

Capcom said they have sold like 1.something million units of RE0.

These are the ones I'm ABSOLUTELY sure about:

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Super Mario Sunshine
Zelda
RE0
Mario Party
Luigi's Mansion
Animal Crossing
Metroid Prime
Sonic Adventure 2 - IGN said it passed a million worldwide a long time ago...
Pikmin

You're forgetting most of your numbers leave out Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart sells WAY more games than any other company in the world, by far. In the US it sells more than many other retailers combined. The vast majority of casual gamers (also the vast majority of gamers) buy games from Wal-Mart than anywhere else. There's a lot of sellin going on in those walmarts
