Halfway through rearranging these I had to think a lot where to place X genre, because there's ones in each that I like and dislike. I really like light gun games, for example, but too many companies release terrible ones and there are only really a couple good ones.

Maybe this list will help you guys understand where I come from in my gaming tastes. By now, I've played over 1000 video games and I'm pretty tired of long, easy games.
The top four up there are games in the purest form, I think. Full of skill and pwn.
For survival horror, well, I've really only played RE and not any Silent Hill or D or whatever. Well, I played Siren a bit and liked it. But I really, really like most all of the core RE games, because they are interesting and challenging. I'm a big RE nerd.
Strategy, I like Starcraft and Advance Wars and FOOTMAN FRENZY
About stealth tactical squad tactics stealth recon strike ops, well, I'm not sure what all goes in there, like Metal Gear and Rainbow6/Tom Clancy's Pro Skateboarder/Counterstrike? Those are pretty fun. Metal Gear feels a bit more action-adventure to me, though.
I liek drifto. Some average genres filling out the middle.
For RPGs, you guys have probably heard me talk smack about them before. But really, it's not the genre itself, it's just that most companies are terrible at making them, IMO. Fallout 2 and FF6 are in my top ten games ever, but there's a hundred games outside of those that suck balls.
Same with light gun games, I love Time Crisis, but the other games in the genre are terrible. I played the newest HotD here in Japan and it sucks, and so do Area52/Target Terror/etc in American arcades. I haven't gotten around to playing Time Crisis 4 yet though since most of the places I've seen it, it costs 2 bucks to play.

Every party game that isn't Pac-Man Fever and Pac-Man Versus pretty much sucks
Adventure games, LOL.
http://www.oldmanmurray.com/features/77.html - I guess if that DS game with the party van bait and the ghost sidekick was an adventure game, that was pretty good.
MMOs, LOL. As you guys may know, I play a lot of WoW, but it really seems like more of a deathmatch game to me than an MMO. If you're playing WoW on a PvE server, you're probably playing one of the worst games ever made.
Every sports game that isn't Tecmo Bowl or Tiny Toons Acme All-Stars pretty much sucks
And I don't understand how anybody could possibly place an educational game or interactive movie game above anything else. Unless it's a porn game, then I'd move this genre to at least the middle.
