Konami Scaling Down to One U.S. Office
« on: April 18, 2007, 05:16:08 PM »
Starting this August, Konami will be calling SoCal home sweet home.

Konami currently has two main offices in the United States, both in California.  In the north, it is based in Redwood City, which is near San Francisico.  To the south lies its El Segundo office, which is located in the greater Los Angeles area.

By the end of July, Konami will be moving all of its operations to the Los Angeles area.  The move is meant to unify the company's broad range of operations and bring them under one roof, which makes sense given its dealings also include arcade distribution, mobile development, toy licensing and more, along with the standard game development and publishing roles Konami is better known for.

No jobs will officially be lost in the transition, as all positions currently available in the northern office will be coming down to L.A.  The only question is whether or not Konami's employees would be willing to relocate.

It sucks that they closed down the Hawaii studio. I guess I missed that before (August).

I'd tease you about still caring about a canceled Dreamcast game but the truth is I feel the same way
