REVIEWS: Svevan and the Secret Shame.
« on: March 06, 2007, 07:56:32 AM »
All right. It is just becoming more and more obvious each time Svevan posts something. He is a flamer trying to fracture these forums and get everyone fighting one another. And he's being completely obvious about it.

I'm going to post an "editorial" about Zelda. Knowing that will get people riled up, I will then quickly post a topic in the funhouse pretending like I'm innocent for the ensuing results. Repeat with the Sonic review. But the thing is, Svevan knew these things would cause a big commotion. That's why he quickly made a topic on it.

It's like Pittboi asking if Miyamoto is past his prime. The first thing he says is "before you get all upset", but later claims he had no idea the topic title would get people so upset. Svevan posts these things knowing he will upset people but then quickly makes a message saying he has no idea why people are upset.

Svevan even has the gall to show us how he riles people up. Low scores for this game, high scores for this game. He's making everyone on this board fight for his own perverse enjoyment.

EDIT: Actual Svevan review added. Written by Svevan. And edited by me.

Pros:

Great graphic avatar
Innovative ideas for getting people angry
Party hats are fun

Cons:

Criteria is uneven
Level design counteracts Svevan's lies
Frustrating difficulty due to design flaws since birth

Graphics: 9.0
The varied phrases are detailed and lush with wordy English effects. Graphically, Svevan is a huge success.

Sound: 6.5
There are catchy qoutes, as well as some horrid awful ones. The voice acting is terrible. Sound effects are convincing and comical.

Control: 5.0
Some great ideas are on display here with the flame bait used in unique ways. Unfortunately, logic is awkward, as is Svevan's primary attack on the game. When the game goes past an hour, Svevan just doesn't work as he should – sometimes reading the manual causes Svevan to make a guess about what the rest of the game is like and he's right, other times the same manual causes him to make an assumption that isn't right.

Gameplay: 3.5
It's too stop-and-go, thanks to the  design. Some paragraphs must be read over and over just to learn where all the criticisms are so you can get the point without dying. Other paragraphs have awkward sentence structure or require you to know a piece of obscure knowledge that you haven't learned yet or ever want to learn.

Lastability: 8.5
Every paragraph is jammed with secrets, and you are scored with laughs depending on how fast you complete them. Quotes are also unlocked, and there is a whole qoute/feedback party game mode to satisfy multiplayer cravings. This package is full; it's just too bad that the main review isn't satisfactory.

Final: 5.0
There's a lot to hate about this review, but with all the extras and the unique flaming scheme, some people may find it worthwhile. I don't recommend the review to anyone, though, and instead encourage a debate to the morbidly curious.

For shame, Svevan, for secret shame.

Oh no you don't, KDR. I'm not falling for that trick.

I've recently been reminded of the Shawst3r debacle (thanks to the Bloodworth thread where one can get all the relevant information they need about this site) and I'm not starting up another discussion on that. It was so nice of you to goad him off his rocker.

No, I'm just going to stick to this Svevan shame for now. You are on your own about all his secret shames.

More secret shame is coming to light. This time, Pap64 made a comment that made everything click. I always look closely at Pap's comments because I know he is lackey to Svevan so that can give me more insight on Svevan. In the review thread, Pap mentioned something about GoldenPheonix joining. And that's when it hit me.

This review is a ploy for Svevan to try and impress and win the affection of Golden Phoenix in order to date her and perhaps marry. Di-a-bolical.

Consider the evidence:

(Alright I will. Will this evidence come with Phoenix Wright screens or characters?)

No, those aren't actually funny and just waste everyone's time.

(True. I should have realized that before. But if you won't have Phoenix Wright screens, will you have Golden Phoenix screens?)

Ummm, that is a little out there.

(How about Phoenix Lestrade driving his Rainbow Phoenix?)

Yeah. You're really killing this joke now.

(Ohh, so Dead Phoenix screens)

Let's not stretch this phoenix reference out anymore. It also isn't funny and just wastes everyone's time.

(Oh. Just like the Phoenix Coyotes)

Exactly. Phoenixeses just aren't that funny.

(....... So, about your evidence?)

Right. Thank you for derailing and the re-railing me.

Prepare yourself. This is going to reveal some nasty truths about the Forum Jungle we all communicate in.

So, the story goes like this. Svevan and Bloodworth start fighting. But, during this fight, a secret about Svevan is revealed.

Svevan wants some recognition in his lonesome life. And lonesome it is. He posts some pictures of himself either with some guys, by himself or with a mirror image of himself. Clearly, Svevan lacks some female companionship and is desperately calling for help.

This opens up a new tactic for Bloodworth. Bloodworth spills a secret. Golden Phoenix is actually a woman on these forums. Svevan is shocked and wants to keep that knowledge to himself, so he tries to find some justification to lock the thread and keep the knowledge hidden. It doesn't work but things get fairly derailed anyways.

Working on the next step of the plan, Smash_Brother really steps up discussions of Sonic's new game. He makes a big point of liking the game. Golden Phoenix, however, comes on and says she doesn't like the game and Smash is wrong. Svevan now sees an opening to advance his plan of impressing Golden Phoenix.

Bloodworth, who had been assigned to review the game originally, graciously allows Svevan to review it instead in a token display to bury the hatchet so to speak. With the review of the game in his hands, Svevan has no intent of actually trying to review the game and just plays a bit of it to find some quick faults with it. He also tries to read abit of the "Sonic doesn't suck" thread to try and figure out some other criticisms to add. Svevan knows the important thing is to make the review the harshest one on the net to really impress Golden Phoenix.

Svevan posts said review and tries to deflect some of the negative feelings with an "oh, why me" post. Pap64, understanding Svevan's desire, mentions that Golden Phoenix should post in the review thread. And sure enough, Golden Phoenix does post. Success! Or is it?

Golden Phoenix comes on and defends Svevan...............................................................'s right to an opinion. Not what he was hoping for. Worse, she says "the review may be a tad bit harsh" and she "would probably give the game a 7." Disaster for Svevan. Now, Svevan must endure the unending cry of people who hate his review and nitpick everything he said without having anything to show for it. There is no silver lining for Svevan.

But why? Why would Bloodworth just let Svevan be able to review the Sonic game? Why would Bloodworth get Svevan to pine for Golden Phoenix? When saying Smash_Brother was part of the plan, who's plan was he a part of? And why is Golden Phoenix so aloof still?

This is the genius part. Bloodworth obviously plays on Svevan's lonely emotions here. Conveniantly, Golden Phoenix pops up as an option. Moreover, Golden Phoenix suddenly starts gaining some attention with her vocal stance against Sonic. But, how does that happen? Becuase of Smash_Brother's vocal stance for Sonic. Smash_Brother was being vocal for it becuase it was a part of Bloodworth's plan. Yes. Smash_Brother is an agent of Bloodworth pretending to work with Svevan. His friendship with Pap64 causes everyone to assume that he would be on Svevan/Pap's side but he is the perfect double agent working for Bloodworth.

Becuase Smash is arguing with Phoenix, Svevan wants to review the Sonic game. Bloodworth wants him to review the game also but do it negatively. Moreover, by allowing Svevan to have this review, Bloodworth makes himself look innocent as though he is trying to be nice to Svevan. But he is actually making sure Svevan is marginalized.

Best of all, he lets Svevan marginalize himself with his own review. With everyone getting upset at Svevan, Svevan loses the little influence he has on this board. Moreover, it calls attention to Svevan's previous reviews and seriously affects his future for being able to review games. Now, Bloodworth will get to review the hottest titles like Twilight Princess and Chibi-Robo. Moreover, it is another rival crushed to the dust through Bloodworth's machinations.

As you may have guessed by now, Golden Phoenix was also working with Bloodworth in this plan. That is why she has not rushed over to Svevan. That is why she has been fighting so loud over the Sonic game. It was all part of the set-up. And it was executed brilliantly. Congratulations Bloodworth. None dare oppose you now.

I love a twist ending.

Holy crap! Why did I type all this? I need to do something better with my time. Vudu was right! I am wordy.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Actually, it surprisingly seems like everyone but you is reading these posts. Wierd.

As long as they are though, you'll find they do have a point. If you're ever on the forum and you're getting tired of the same old arguements and topics, you appreciate wierd bizarre posts like those to give you some way to spend your time.

Even if you don't read the second post, I highly recommend the first where I subtlety change a few words in his own review. I think the results are great.

Bloodworth said I would win the next two contests held by then-PGC: all I had to do was vehemently defend the then-Revolution exclusive Sonic game. I never even stopped to ask "why".

Dear god, what have I done...
"OK, first we need someone to complain about something trivial. Golden or S_B should do. Then we get someone to defend the game, like Bill or Mashiro. Finally add some Unclebob or Pro666 randomness and the thread should go to hell right away." -Pap64
